Marjorie Samec was in the hospital for several days this week due to complications from a colonoscopy.

Ken Van Byssum, Jr., had encouraging test results this week and has begun feeling a bit better. He has an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow to take some biopsies, and if those results are good, he shouldn’t need surgery. Pray for continued recovery and continued good test results for Ken.

ANNOUNCEMENTS A New Members Orientation Class will be offered today after morning

worship in room 4/5. This is an opportunity to learn more about Faith, to meet others who are newer to our church, and to talk about next steps for membership. Talk to Pastor Greg to attend.

Children's Church would love to use your gift of piano playing if you are willing to share it! Please talk to Christy Hooker or Nelly Groenewold if you will play piano for us a couple of Sundays a quarter. Added bonus: get your heart filled while listening to some of our youngest members praise God!

Life Chain Sunday – A Silent Witness! Next Sunday is “Life Chain Sunday” where we have an opportunity to stand in prayerful silent witness to others letting them know that we believe life is sacred. A flyer will be available next week on the information desk noting the various locations where you may stand. Signs are provided at the sites. If you are unable to participate, please spend time in prayer for the unborn. “Thou covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:13.

Our mom’s ministry, Mom2Mom meets most 2nd and 4th Thursdays, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Excellent childcare provided. Mom2Mom provides a beautiful and nurturing environment where Titus 2 relationships are encouraged – the older women mentoring the younger women. This year, we will be reading the book, Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, by young mother, Sarah Mae, and her mentor, Sally Clarkson. Desperate is the story of one young mother’s trials and one experienced mentor’s priceless exhortations. Desperate is not a book about despair, nor is it a rule-laden mothering manual. It is a life offering filled with encouragement, help, and answers to some of your heart-wrenchingly honest questions. Please register at www.faithelmhurst.org. New moms can join at any time. Contact Sarah Schuringa, 630-279-0016 or [email protected] with any questions.

Beth Moore Women’s Bible Studies will start on Thursday, October 2, and will meet most first and third Thursdays. Morning study meets from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at church and offers excellent childcare. Evening study meets from 7:30 - 9:00 PM at the house. All women welcome – invite a friend! If you have never done a Beth Moore study, this is your opportunity – you won’t be disappointed! We’ll be studying Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, which explores Psalms 120-134. Please register at www.faithelmhurst.org so that books can be ordered and childcare planned for. Contact Sarah Schuringa, 630-279-0016 or [email protected] with any questions.

Keith & Kristyn Getty are returning to Faith CRC to lead us in a night of worship!
