Social Events/Outings This schedule is a reminder of the future day/weekend outings we have planned for the Club and will be supplemented by more detailed emails, or entries below, closer to the dates.

Proposed Date Venue November 25th Christmas Lunch TBA Werribee Zoo

We are trying to book the Blackburn Hotel again for our annual Christmas Lunch and also the private room we enjoyed last time. As soon as I have confirmation I will circulate the details and a link to the menu. The venue is a good one. Close to all, good parking, no stairs to climb and, if that room is still available, some privacy while close to the bistro. We are also working on an outing to the Werribee Zoo with a date to be fixed but probably also in November. Again details as soon as they are confirmed.

28th Eastern Interclub - Maroondah The annual Eastern Interclub is organized by the Maroondah Photographic Society and involves approximately 7/8 clubs. We are regular participants and the entries consist of 5 Open prints, 5 DPI’s and 5 B&W DPI’s. These are the entries we selected to represent the Club. Open Prints

There were far too many placings/merits etc. to list but two “most successful” tell the story! Arthur Lilley was also an acceptance in the competition which is very popular National. Also, congratulations to Pam on becoming a grandparent again! Twins no less! More kids to spoil!! Here is a picture of Pam with trophies [or some of them?] and some of the successful entries

Technical/Technique Corner, And Other Matters Some interesting, and I hope helpful, articles from the wide world of the Internet. Sometimes articles are brand specific but more often than not the points discussed are relevant to all cameras or computer operating systems. If Canon has a certain function – so will Nikon/Pentax

- just with a different name.

Sometimes the articles/links are not even about cameras and gear!! Comparison of The New Nikon/ Canon and Sony FF Cameras https://kenrockwell.com/tech/comparisons/nikon-vs-canon-vs-sony-full-frame.htm The internet [at the photography section of the internet!] is abuzz with the announcement of two Nikon Full Frame Mirrorless cameras followed immediately by the release of a Canon Full Frame Mirrorless version.

You can take your pick about how good they are [you can guarantee all three are excellent] and how they compare with the only other Full Frame mirrorless on the market, – the A7 111, from Sony. They do say “comparisons are odious” but I have found this comparison of the various specifications that might interest someone in the market for a new camera? Me – I like them all!!! Watch out for some good prices on DSLR’s over the next 12 months.
