Our 2016 Olympics in Rio have come and gone. As predicted the US brought home many medals. These medals and the opportunity to represent America exemplify each Olympians’ dedication and hard work. Congratulations TEAM USA! You made us proud! 2016 Olympic FUN FACTS Philip Dutton (equestrian) and Elizabeth Beezie Madden (equestrian) are the oldest U.S. Olympic ath- letes; both at the age of 52. Kanak Jha (table tennis), and Laurie Hernandez (gymnast) are 16 and the youngest. DeAndre Jordan and DeMarcus Cousins (basketball) both at 6’11” are the tallest to compete. At 4’8”, Simone Biles (gymnastics) is the shortest. Jeff Henderson of McAlmont, Arkansas won Olympic gold in the long jump. Michael Phelps 2016 net worth prior to games was $55 Million. His overall medal total in five Olympic Games - 23 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze! Matthew Centrowitz is the first US athlete to win Olympic 1500m since 1908.
