Pantomime Cast Announcement

Mirror Mirror on the wall, come to the Kings this winter to see the best pantomime of them all! New Pantomime Productions bring us more fun this Christmas with ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. Along with a fabulous cast, two of which are ‘back by popular demand’ Lisa Riley and Marcus Patrick (below) also starring; Rob McVeigh from TV’s ‘Any Dream will do’, Jen Pringle from ‘Milkshake!’, Aiden J Harvey and Phil Randall.

…Heigh-Ho Heigh-Ho, oh and not forgetting those seven helpful (and not so helpful) dwarfs who go by the names of Colonel, Shy, Growler, Cheerful, Dozey, Sniffles and Snoozy; two of which we are proud to announce will be played by Max Laird and Karen Anderson (below) who recently married and starred in the TV programme ‘Seven Dwarves: The Wedding’.

Tremendous fun for all the family in our traditional festive

pantomime! From Wednesday 12 December 2012 – Sunday 6

January 2013, book now…

Hellos and Goodbyes

Tabitha Lane (right) joined us three months ago as the Finance Assistant on

a PETA Apprenticeship. She has settled into her role well, showing she is a

valuable member of staff. She has also been working as a casual in the

theatre’s Box Office. We hope she continues to enjoy working at the Kings

Theatre!

Emily Dumelow (left) joined the

theatre as the new PR and Group

Bookings Assistant and is also on a

Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Sarah Probert (below) has

joined the theatre on a

BusinessAdministration

Apprenticeship and will be the

new Marketing Assistant.

Rachel Gibbens is on a Business Administration apprentice with PETA

and has been working in the Marketing department for almost a year. She

has been given the opportunity to widen her business knowledge of the

theatre and move to the Admin department as the new assistant. Good

Luck in your new role Rachel!

Megan Broderick has sadly left us after a year as the Admin Assistant on her Business Administration NVQ

Level 2 Apprenticeship. She proved to be a valuable member in the admin department and will be missed!

However, Megan is now off to University to study so we wish her the best of luck.

Natalie O’Hara has just completed her Business Administration NVQ Level 2 Apprenticeship in the PR and

Group Bookings department at the theatre. She’s done amazingly well and the office staff will be sad to see her

go. But it’s not all goodbyes for Natalie as she’ll be working as a casual in Box Office and Front of House. We

wish her luck!

Song and Dance 2012

The best of Portsmouth’s local professional and community talent came together for

this annual evening of fantastic song and dance on Sunday 2nd September! The

concert raised money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, cancer charity

“Kick it into Touch” and the Kings Theatre Restoration Fund. It was a fantastic night

and a great way to raise money for three wonderful local charities. Ron Hasker,

Chairman of the Kings Theatre said to everyone involved with “Song and Dance” -

“Thank you so much for all your help and support for the Kings Theatre both for

tonight and in the past, and we hope to see you again at the theatre soon for the

remainder of the exciting Autumn season”. We expected the concert to raise about

£2,000, but the figures are still very provisional.

Our sparkly new Gift Vouchers have arrived!

We are thrilled to present our new gift vouchers. The

vouchers can be used to purchase theatre tickets and

merchandise sold via the Kings Theatre Box Office

Kings”. They make the perfect gift for family and

friends and with a fabulous Autumn/ Winter season

here at the Kings what better time to use them! The

values we have available are £5, £10, £20 and even

£50 so why not “add a little drama” this Christmas.

Terms and Conditions Apply. Please ask at Box Office for details.

“Why dedicated Lee is a real Olympic hero”

Lee Stoddart, member of the Kings Theatre Trust has done a considerable

amount of voluntary work at the theatre over the years and last year he decided

to apply to volunteer for the Olympic Games. Upon being successful in his

interview he was to be volunteering at the Olympic Park and said “I was amazed

that I’d been chosen from so many” (only up against 120,000 others). Most of us

would have decided against going to London during the games because of the

busy traffic, instead just watching it on the television. However, Lee said “It was

unbelievably efficient” and “had a fantastic once in a life time experience and

was a tiny part of the most wonderful celebration of sporting achievement”. If

you would like to hear more about Lee’s experience see www.kings-
