Rules Question:
Keegan Bradley in route to his first major championship at
the PGA last month, hit his second shot on the par 3, 15th
hole into the water, on the opposite side of the green from
where he was hitting. The hazard was marked with a
yellow line, indicating that the pond was to be played as a
water hazard. What were his four options for his next
stroke? Hint, one of his options was impossible and
another is the option he elected, thanks to the tournament
committee.
Answer located on the next page…..

FREE Junior Clinics
starting Monday, August 22nd we will host a junior clinic at
4 pm. Available for all juniors under the age of 13. The
Clinic will last approximately 1 HOUR and will include on
course play with an instructor. And parents, we also encour-
age you to stay and participate in the clinic as well.
Please contact the pro shop for any questions or to sign-up
Answers from Previous Page:
Option #1 – play the ball as it lies
(impossible due to the depth of the water hazard).
Option #2 – drop as closely as possible
to where he last played from.
Option #3 – drop on the opposite side of the hazard,
keeping the point where the ball last crossed the margin of
the hazard in between himself and the hole.
Option #4 – drop in the indicated drop zone provided by
the tournament committee (this is the option he elected).
Note from the LGA
Now that Fall is almost here, let's hope the hot summer days slowly give way to cool breezes & pleasant days! I
can dream, can't I? The LGA gals continued to show up on Wednesdays the past 2 months..... and a great time
was had by all!
Once again, Martha & Steve hosted a luncheon & pool party for us and we thank you. We also surprised Sally
with a great turn-out luncheon for her (no year mentioned) birthday!
The Calga results at Pine Forest in July were: Martha-2nd L.G., Suzanne-2nd L.N., and Kit-3rd L.N. in the 2nd
Flight. Peggy Brinson was 1st L.G. in the 3rd Flight.
At Rivertowne in August, we had the following winners: 2nd Flight: Martha-1st L.N. & Terri-2nd L.G., 3rd
Flight: Suzanne- 3rd L.n., & 5th Flight- Mary Symuleski-3rd L.N.
Judy D'Ambrosio has kept the 9-holers informed and playing each week.....and they have added 2 additional gals
to the group.
This month we will have a joint Captain's Choice Event with both groups to promote continued fellowship!
We welcome any new neighbors to come out and join either the 9 or 18 hole group.....Wednesday morning!
And that's that!

Family Tees
(Tee it Forward Initiative)
The PGA has implemented the “Tee it Forward” initiative to
help golfers enjoy the game as well as to grow the game in an
attempt to attract new junior golfers, families and
beginning golfers to the game of golf. There is a flyer
located at the handicap computer to help golfers identify
which tees they should play. Most people already know that
we have 3 sets of tees (blue, white and green), but many are
unaware that we also offer 3 blended tee options (blue/white,
green/white and green/gold) for golfers to play, as well.
Scorecards are available in the proshop to provide tee and
handicap information.
We have also re-implemented family tees throughout the
course. You will see these markers (Gold and Red) located
in the fairway to provide adequate starting points for juniors
and beginners, as well as for families to come out and play
together. During Twilight Play (after 3pm), we will also
allow juniors under the age of 16 to play for FREE when
accompanied by a paying adult. Family tee scorecards are
also available in the proshop.
