AN UNEXPECTED LESSON Jesus’ parable depicts workers who “punch the clock” at various times throughout the long day: dawn, nine, noon, three, and five o’clock. Regardless of when they began working in the vineyard, the laborers all receive the same reward. The reward seems lavish to the latecomers, of course, and shockingly unfair to the long-faithful workers. The landowner soothes his most dutiful laborers, however, delighting in them as friends and transforming their bitter confrontation into a reflection on generosity. The laborers who arrived at five o’clock might have been late to the job, but those who began at the crack of dawn were last to understand the ex-travagant bounty of the landowner. Seen in this way, the parable discusses not only God’s gener-osity toward “unworthy” believers, but also the Lord’s inexhaustible patience toward those who thought they had nothing more to learn. FR. PEDRO’S MESSAGE
IS GOING TO CHURCH NECESSARY FOR SALVATION?
I remember the man on the street corner in the city of Miami Beach. The man was always on that corner giving away New Testaments "to anyone who wants to be saved." I knew I hadn't been "saved," but I was not convinced I was "lost." I later learned how easily we can be lost, and how univer-sal that condition is. But along with that doctrine of Sin, I also learned that God, who created us, loves us unconditionally. Yes, unconditionally. Christ died that all might live. Yes, we are called to live in the image of Christ, but God created us as human beings and does not reject us for what we do. Our repentance immediately brings His forgiveness. Even without repentance, God loves us, though He may not love our ac-tions or thoughts or words. I do not believe we must "go to church" to be "saved"; I do believe that as fallible human beings we need some source of recharging, or encouragement, of community and of guidance. Holy Scripture, homilies that give us perspective and God's comfort, the fellowship and strengthening that come from the mystical body and power of community — all these are food for our soul and can be found in a place of worship. In my opinion, absolutely not! The right church can be a wonderful blessing that brings us closer to God. The wrong church can be just the opposite. Whether or not a particular church is "right" or "wrong" depends on whether or not it helps YOU. It might be the right church for you and the wrong one for me. However, none of us have to go to church to be saved. All we have to do is seek a relationship with God through Christ. If going to church strengthens that relationship, by all means, go. If it does not, put that same time and energy into something that does strengthen it, like simply talking to God through prayer.
The expression, “GO TO THE CHURCH OF YOUR CHOICE, BUT GO” is very true to the conclusion that Yes we must attend church eve-ry Sunday to fulfill the Commandment: keep Holy the Lord’s Day.

FOR ADULTS: Which has deepened your faith more – being treated justly or being treated with love and care AND WHY? FOR THE YOUTH: Who needs you to treat them with care this week ...YOUR FAMILY OR YOUR FRIENDS AND WHY ? FOR OUR CHIL-DREN: When have you been very fair? When have you been very generous? Which felt better AND WHY?
One Hundred Fifty Reasons I'm Catholic And You Should Be Too! By Dave Armstrong
# 35. Catholicism retains the sense of the sacred, the sublime, the holy, and the beautiful in spirituality. The ideas of altar, and "sacred space" are preserved. Many Protestant churches are no more than "meeting halls" or "gymnasiums" or "barn"-type struc-tures. Most Protestants' homes are more esthetically striking than their churches. Likewise, Protestants are often "addicted to medi-ocrity" in their appreciation of art, music, architecture, drama, the imagination, etc. # 36. Protestantism has largely neglected the place of liturgy in worship (with notable exceptions such as Anglicanism and Luther-anism). This is the way Christians had always worshiped down through the centuries, and thus can't be so lightly dismissed. # 37. Protestantism tends to oppose matter and spirit, favoring the latter, and is somewhat Gnostic or Docetic in this regard. # 38. Catholicism upholds the "incarnational principle," wherein Jesus became flesh and thus raised flesh and matter to new spir-itual heights.

LAUGHTHER IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL A minister was planning a wedding at the
close of the Sunday morning service. After the benediction he had planned to call the couple down to be married for a brief ceremony before the congregation. For the life of him, he couldn't think of the names of those who were to be mar-ried. "Will those wanting to get married please come to the front?" he requested. Immediately, nine single ladies, three widows, four widowers, and six single men stepped to the front…..
Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Children are usually still quite young the first time they have occasion to shout, “That’s not fair!” At some point in our lives, we’ve probably all felt the bitterness of unfairness. Today’s readings agree that life isn’t always fair—yet, unexpectedly, invite us to rejoice! We rejoice because God’s mercy is totally unfair: God lavishes us with forgiveness and love even when we deserve less. Both the reading from Isaiah and the psalm praise the great mercy of God, mercy that for-gives our sins over and over. In the Gospel parable, Jesus demonstrates that God longs to give good things to all of us, even to those who seem less worthy. When Saint Paul reflects on God’s good-ness, embodied in Jesus Christ, he can hardly wait to enter his heavenly reward.

Nuestro arrepentimien-to inmediatamente trae su perdón.
