Catechetical Sunday
Parents are truly the primary catechists of their
children.
On Catechetical Sunday in 2020, we lift up the parents of St. Teresa of Avila who will be engaging in Family Formation
more fully this year than ever before. The gift of our faith is passed down by
exploring and living it out together.

Reconciliation, Adoration & Church
Dear friends in the Lord, Next weekend I will be at Cedar Lake Ministries with our college students for our annual Fall Retreat. This year’s theme is: “The Shadow of the Father”. This is a very ancient title of St. Joseph and how his life reflects God the Father for us. Each of the talks
throughout the weekend will have to do with different things we can learn from St. Joseph so that we might follow Christ more closely and rediscover the Father’s delight in us. Our team has been working very closely with the university so that we can still offer an amazing retreat experience. We will be following all state, diocesan and university guidelines for providing a safe environment for everyone. Our group will not have any contact with anybody outside our group, and we will have our own spaces to use as well. Please keep us in your prayers that the Holy Spirit may stir our hearts and help us to encounter Christ. If anyone would like to sponsor a college student for the retreat ($100), we would greatly appreciate the ability to offer scholarships for students who may have financial difficulty. If you would like to support the students through snacks, you can purchase individually wrapped items and drop them off in the office by noon on Friday, September 25. Thank you so much for your support and prayers as we help our students encounter Christ. Yours in the Lord, Fr. Chris

Stewardship Stewardship Report
Tithing As individuals we are called to be good and generous stewards with God’s manifold gifts. Tithing is the means whereby we have the opportunity to give thanks to God; with that in mind, the community of St. Teresa of Avila tithes weekly. This week we will tithe to Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
