TRY IT DESCRIPTIONSCurling

Bairns & Weans - Passport

Curling is considered one of the oldest team sports and was played in Scotland and northern Europe as early as the 16th century. The sport was brought to Canada and other countries with winter climates, by Scottish emigrants and was one of the first sports that was popular with women and girls. Here’s your chance to Try It!

We welcome your laddies and lassies ages five to pre-teen to participate in the Passport Program. Children can collect passport stamps as they visit various Games venues. Passports are available at the Information Tent.

SEMINARS & SPEAKERS

Experience Scotland first hand! Our 2022 trip is full! But you can still join NHSCOT in 2023 for the Discover Scotland trip - or to take a more in depth travel adventure, Lore & Legends! Come and see what the excitement is about.

Always wanted to learn about fly fishing? William will share his knowledge of fly fishing and fly tying for Northeastern trout, landlocked salmon and the experience of over forty rivers world wide fly casting to Atlantic salmon. Learn about two handed casting from IFFF certified two-handed casting instructor William Ciaurro.

Let’s all try our hand at learning a bit of Scottish Gaelic with Ian Gauthier from Catamount Pipe Band!

Ian Gauthier (Saturday and Sunday Only)

Carole Soule of Miles Smith Farm tells the story of Highland cattle in NH with June & Bear. Look for them on the grounds near the larger Vendor Village when they’re not on stage.

What do we know about bagpipes? There are so many interesting things to learn about this mysterious musical instrument.

A music and history program called Jacobite Risings in Song & Story. As a Highlander sympathetic to Prince Charlie’s cause, Charlie Zahm fills the program with history, music of the time, from the perspective of a true historical figure who actually fought in Prince Charlie’s cause.
