The Promised Land was a gift from God, but it still had to bepossessed through faith and action. Joshua led the people in, andthey immediately faced battles. But God promised they would win

those battles and live fruitful, satisfying lives in the land if theyremained faithful to Him and followed His directions.

1. I will give you every place you ________your foot. (Joshua 1:3)

God has called His people to take territory.What territory has God called you to take?

What is your mission in life?

2. I will ______________ leave you norforsake you. (Joshua 1:5)

Joshua needed reassurance, and God gave him plenty of it.What is God leading you to do that would be impossible without Hispresence? His assignments for us will require His help. Jesus said,Without Me, you can do nothing. If its small enough to do on our

own, it isnt a God-sized task.

3. Be ___________ and courageous.(Joshua 1:6, 7, 9)

Joshua was in an intimidating situation, and God spoke words of

strength to him. Fulfilling Gods mission is not an easy, trouble-freeassignment. It requires courage.

With Him on our side, we have nothing to fear.

4. Be _____________ to do everything writtenin the Book. (Joshua 1:8)

Gods Word is critical to our well being.For Joshua and his people, it was Gods Law. For us today, its all of

Gods Word. God doesnt give us instructions to limit us; He givesthem for our benefit.

CONCLUSION: Israel failed to keep Gods Word during the time ofthe judges, as well as many eras since, and they experienced

negative consequences as God disciplined them. But when theywere faithful to His Word, God fully supported them with His

strength. When we neglect our relationship with Him, He has tofocus on bringing us back. When we honor our relationship with

Him, He can focus on blessing us with His favor. He faithfully bringsus into the pl aces He promised us.

God, is with you everystep you take.

HOW TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD

1) Recognize that you are SINNER and need a personal relationship with God.2) Never trust in what you can do to earn the gift of SALVATIONChrist has for you.3) Come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and SUBMITto all His ways.4) Ask for His grace for you to SERVE anAd follow and obey Him for the rest of your life.
