SEPTEMBER 13, 2020 THREE PARABLES BIBLE STORY FOR TODDLERS Share this story with your toddler throughout the week! Some people did not like that Jesus loved sinners. Jesus told a story about a man who left all of his other sheep to find the one sheep that was lost, and he celebrated. Then Jesus told about a woman who swept her whole house to look for one coin, and she celebrated when she found it. Jesus said, “All of heaven celebrates when one sinner comes to God.” Then Jesus told about a man with two sons. The younger son left home and wasted his money. When he had no more money or food, he got a job feeding pigs. He was so hungry, he wanted to eat pig food! He said, “My father’s workers have plenty of food. I do not deserve to be his son, but I will ask to be his worker.” When his father saw him coming, his father ran to his son, hugged him, and kissed him. His father said, “Let’s celebrate! My son was lost and now is found!” TODDLER ACTIVITIES SWEEP THE FLOOR Hide a toy coin under shredded paper. Encourage your toddler to use a broom to sweep the floor to look for the coin. Retell the Bible story. SAY: Jesus told stories about God’s love. A woman lost a coin and was so happy to find it that she wanted her friends to be happy too. God is happy when sinners trust Jesus, and we can be happy too. JESUS IS OUR KING. MOVE LIKE SHEEP Invite the whole family to crawl on the floor, bleating like sheep. Pretend to be a shepherd gathering and counting your sheep. Exaggerate being relieved they are all there. SAY: Jesus told stories about God’s love. The shepherd was happy to find his sheep. God is happy when sinners trust Jesus. JESUS IS OUR KING.
