Our Client, an International Mining Company urgently requires the following position: MANAGER GEOLOGY Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor Degree (S1) Geologist or Mining Engineer Approximately 15 years experience in geological functions with a balanced mix of exploration geology and mine geology experience, including: 5+ years geology department management experience of group sizes larger than 10 people Experience in consultant and contractor management, including direction of resource modelling process, QAQC processes and letting, awarding and management of drilling, survey and other associated contracts. Experience in minerals exploration, particularly Cu-Au porphyry systems Experience in contributing to scoping and feasibility studies Experience with leadership of the resource modelling process including core-logging, geological interpretations, wireframing and geostatistical applications. Computer Literate: MS Office. Jobs Description and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Development, the Geology Manager will be accountable for the management of all geological aspects of the exploration and development of the Project’s Tumpangpitu deposit. Success will be achieved through meeting or exceeding the role’s key performance indicators by delivering technical excellence, high quality management and team work. A focus on a constant review of activities is essential to ensure short to medium plans and objectives are being met coupled with a strategic focus on long term aims for the project. Management of the Geology team resulting in a committed and motivated workforce that has a continuous improvement focus and complies with all policies and procedures. Mentor Geologists in day to day tasks to ensure technical and leadership outputs are maintained to standard. Reporting with timely, relevant and comprehensive geological information/data for review and decision making. Develop and implement geological policies, procedures, systems and processes that will ensure optimal performance of all aspects of the Geology function. Management of the development programs of the Tumpangpitu deposit and liaison to the mine engineering and construction team. Develop geological understanding and model of the Tumpangpitu deposit and identify issues related to the development and mining of the deposit. Management of spatial database for the exploration and project development of the Tumpangpitu deposit and nearby targets.

• Management of all relevant contractors involved in the exploration and development of

the project including drilling and geological consultants. • Manage, in conjunction with the Manager EH&S, the development and implementation

of effective EH&S systems, policies and procedures related to the Geology Department

that drive an environmental and safety performance based culture. • Promote trust, respect, openness and collaboration as the basis for relationships and

develop a culture of open communication with management and employees. • Contribute to the short to long term planning processes that enable optimisation of the

geological function. • Actively participate and contribute as a member of the Project management team. • Manage and account for finances, including budgeting, cost control and asset

management. • Manage the ongoing training and development of the geological team • Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal requirements, ethical standards

and Project policies. • The successful candidate will be site based on a 28/14 roster from point of hire.
