Preference Test

• All about product acceptability• Opinions• Likes and dislikes• 2 types:• Hedonic – give opinions on samples

from ‘extreme like’ to ‘extreme dislike’.• Paired – 2 samples indicate which they

prefer.

Discriminatory

• Tell the difference between samples

Paired comparison

• Pair of coded samples given for specific comparison of a quality e.g. sweetness, crunchiness.

Triangle Test

• 3 samples are given, 2 are the same and 1 is difference.

• Have to spot the odd one out.
