My Trip to See

Winnie the Pooh

at ZACH Theatre

Soon I will see a play called Winnie the Pooh at ZACH Theatre.

The play will be in the Kleberg Theatre.

The Kleberg Theatre is a 220 seat theatre.

The stage is very close to the audience.

When I arrive, I will see people who work at ZACH.

I can say hello to them if I want,

or I can just keep walking to the Box Office.

At the box office I will get my ticket.

I may need to say my name to the person behind the counter.

If I don’t want to say my name, I can ask my family member.

Outside the doors of the theatre is the lobby and there are benches.

I can sit there with my family and wait for the theatre to open.

Sometimes the lobby might be loud or crowded.

There is a break space in the hallway outside the theatre.

I can go there if I need a break. Or if it is nice, I can sit under the tree

out side.

When it’s time to go into the theatre, ushers will open the doors. I

can choose which door to use.

I may have to wait in line before it is my turn to go into the theatre.

The usher will scan my ticket and then give it back to me.

As I go into the theatre we will be very close to the stage.

I will stay with my family to find our seats.

I may have to walk up some steps to get to some of the seats.

I can hold onto the railing.

My family and I will choose which seats we would like to sit in.

When we choose the seat we like,

we will sit there for the whole play.

Before the show starts the set will look like this.

When the show is about to start, somebody will come on stage and

make an announcement.

This play is about Winnie the Pooh and his Friends. The actors at the

beginning of show the show will pretend not to know the story of

Winnie the Pooh.

But they will decide to read the story of Winnie the Pooh. The actors put on

hats and other costumes to pretend to be the different characters. Some

actors even play more than one character.

Piglet and Eeyore

Owl Rabbit

Winnie the Pooh

Kanga

Sometimes the actors might be on stage near me.

They will not touch me. They may even talk to me or ask me ques-

tions. If I don’t want to talk to them, I don’t have to.

If it is too loud during the play, I can cover my ears.

If it is too bright, I can close my eyes. If I need to, I can ask my family

member to take a break with me in the lobby at these times.

When I see the actors bow, I will know the play is over.

People around me will clap their hands.

If I liked the show I can clap my hands too.

I had fun at ZACH theatre and I can’t wait to come back soon!
