HOW DO YOU REALLY HEAR? When someone speaks to you, the air vibrates. The sounds

waves reach your ear and are picked up by the outer ear. The sound waves are then passed on through the ear canal, strike the eardrum and causes it to vibrate. The hammer begins to vibrate, then the anvil and finally the stirrup. The vibration are passed on to the fluid within the cochlea. Vibrations in the cochlea stimulate the nerve endings located there. The nerves takes the impulses to the brain by means of the auditory nerve. The brain interprets the impulses and you CAN HEAR.
