Thanks to the students from Facing History New Tech for coming to assist us in
distributing food at our monthly Produce Market. Markets are the first Monday
of every month here at the center, from 10:00am to 11:30am.
SCR CELEBRITIES OF THE MONTH
Betty Neruda and Theresa Longbrake appeared on the Volunteer of the Week segment of Channel 3’s
We The People on March 29th. Betty spoke about volunteer opportunities through Greater Cleveland Volunteers
and shared with the audience the recipe for her famous Blueberry Cobbler. They also got in
an advertisement for our upcoming Olympic Games by wearing their t-shirts from last year’s 33rd annual Senior Olympics.
Great job, ladies!

Benjamin Franklin Community Garden Plots – Plot sizes are
20’×25’ for $45 or a half plot 12’×20’ for $25. For an application call

Department of Aging & Cleveland EMS have partnered to bring
File of Life to Cleveland seniors – File of Life is an emergency pre-
paredness magnetic file that promotes safety & peace of mind. Place on
the outside of a refrigerator it includes important information about
medical history, emergency contacts, & medications all in one place for
use in an emergency. File of Life is available at no cost. To obtain a

100% of donations go to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo which will select

gested donation $5 children & seniors & $10 adults. Pre-sale tickets

"The Tremont History Project” Historic Church Tour - Saturday,

“The History of Music of the 50’s” by Dr. Joel Keller, “The Doc of Rock n Roll”.
This SCR-sponsored session is on Thursday, May 30th from 12:30-1:30.
Dessert will be provided! Come and learn the interesting history of music of
the era from an area expert. This will be the first of a series.
Stay tuned for June date. No charge. Everyone is welcome.
Transportation will be available after the presentation to those who need it.

wheelchair accessible, but we do not provide

congregate meals, shopping, medical
