Located in the central part of Limbaži District.
Territory - 224,6 km, including agricultural lands 32%, forests 61%.
Population 1466, including 562 seniors (34%).
Cultural and educational institutions in the territory of the municipality
Vilkene’s primary school, named after Baumanis Karlis (composer of Latvian Anthem)

and the latest software, in user support and undertaking innovative activities in libraries

For the seniors took a survey on interest in learning computer and Internet use
It was filled in 17 questionnaires: 4 men 13 women
They are interested in looking up information online, letter writing and presentation, friends and community search
February 2009 -Seniors Training Start 11 participants with no prior knowledge
and skills training for embarked Viļķenes library:
2 learners age from 50 to 60 years 1 learner age from 61 to 70 8 learners age from 71 to 80
The purpose of the course
to encourage getting to know and to learn new technologies
Characteristics of the learning process adapting to learners' pace and perceptual
abilities create a pleasant, friendly learning
atmosphere (display images and movies that meet the interests of)
create a pleasing result
