Senior Systems Safety Engineer (Aerospace)
THE ROLEDue to recent contract wins, and supporting continued growth, Stirling Dynamics are looking for talented Senior Systems Safety Engineers to join our team supporting numerous civil aerospace, urban air-mobility and defence/military related projects. This role will be predominantly based in our Bristol offices with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAs part of the Systems Safety team, the Senior Systems Safety Engineers will be responsible for the delivery of systems safety support to our business and our clients which will include activities such as:
Providing safety input to bid, internal/external design review and/or certification related activities,
Guiding the safety programme requirements, Collation of evidence and deliverables to support product safety argument generation, Hazard identification & control, Detailed analyses of complex systems using fault tree methodology, Production of safety case reports, System level analyses, integrating multiple sub-system inputs, Platform loss modelling, integrating multiple system level analyses, Zonal safety assessments, Common mode / cause analyses, Particular risk analyses,
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSCandidates will ideally be degree qualified, in a related discipline, and be experienced in aerospace/urban air-mobility/military/defence related systems safety engineering principles, processes and standards.Specific skills/knowledge/experience should include subjects such as:
Civil aircraft certification (CS-23, -25) Systems such as: landing gear (ATA-32), flight controls (ATA-27), fuel (ATA-28), power
(ATA-24), Hazard Logs and analysis activities including: HAZID, HAZOP, FHA, Analysis techniques such as: FTA, ETA, FMEA, FMES, Production of safety documentation such as PSSA, SSA, PRA etc, ARP4754 System Design Process, ARP4761 Safety analysis, DO178B/DO254 Software/Hardware design, International standards e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 62368, Working within a quality system environment, such as AS9100, ISO9001, The ability to lead activities within a team, work package creation, management, and
delivery.
