Academics Revision (Oral and Written) in all subjects
is in full swing for the upcoming Annual Examinations.
Smart Board content was used for revision as well.
The following were taught
with the help of smart board.
English - Reported speech,
question tags, Julius Caesar
animation (10th standard content)
Hindi (2nd lang) - Comprehension,
prepositions, conjunctions and sandhi.
Hindi (3rd lang)- Grammar concepts,
singular-plural, gender and short
stories.
Sanskrit- Sandhi, unknown
comprehension, origin of letters.
Maths- Mensuration and
Comparing Quantities.
Science- Lessons- Pollution of air
and water, Some natural phenomena
and Light was done using smart board.
Later HOTS questions were discussed
on the above topics.
Social Science- Lessons- Human resource, Law and justice
and Public facilities, Changing the World of visual arts and India
after independence were done with smart board presentation.
Notebook assessment and subject
enrichment activity was done in all subjects.
CHALLENGE SEEKERS
Following is the list of students who have
won many prizes in various competitions at
Inter School and Intra School levels.
Swathi.S, Saismrithi.G.B and Sriram.N participated
in the Folk Music Competition organized by Children‟s club
and won the second prize.
Sriram.N took part in Mridangam competition
(Thaniavardhanam) organized by Children‟s club and was awarded
the second prize for the same.
Gautam Krishna.M.D secured gold medal In IEO
and appeared for the second level.
Sujith.S appeared for the second level IMO
and NSO exams.
Avni.K, Jayashree Manigandan and Sai Smrithi.G.B
were part of the team that participated in the
FLL Robotics Nationals.
Nandhini.B, Nisha.M and Venkatakrishnan.K took
part in the Ramanujam Cup 2018, Math competition
organized by P.S. Senior Secondary School.
In the „Devaram‟ competition, Mirithika.K won the
consolation prize.
Trisha.S, Shreya Shriram, Yamini.T took part in the
Kanakadhara Sthothram competition conducted by the
Sanskrit department and won the First, Second and Third
prizes respectively. The other
participants were Nandhini.S,
Akshaya.S.K and Jayashree.M.
In Pick and Speak on Mathematical
concepts organized by the Mathematical Department
Sujith.S and Nandhini.S secured the first position,
Ashvita.R and Nandhini.B won the Second position
Shreya Shriram and Maalolan Murali won the third position
Swathika.V and Parvathi.S got the consolation prizes.
Hindi department conducted intra-school essay writing
competition.

Nandhini.S and Venkatakrishnan.P secured the first and third
prizes respectively in Tamil recitation competition on the topic
„freedom fighters‟.
In the intra-school English competition- Creative writing,
the results were announced.
In the Drawing competition conducted by the
Science department,
Maalolan Murali, Kowshik.K, Sarvesh.S,
Vishal.S.P won the first prize.
Pandari Bai.K, Buvaneswari.S, Illakiya.C and Roshini.K
participated in the intra-school Science competition- Chart
making on the topic „conservation of electricity‟.
In the Intra-School drawing competition,
Sanjitha.S got the first prize,
Aditya.S and Nandhini.S won the second prize,
Haritha.R and Sameeha.H.R got the third prize and
Aniruddhan.S won the consolation prize.
Language Day was
celebrated in our school
auditorium on 21 February.
The programme included a
variety of activities such as
oratorical speeches both in
Hindi and Tamil, a dance
performance, songs by students
and a PowerPoint presentation.
We present a long list of achievers
whose achievements are commendable in varied sports events.
Anirudh.S took part in the under 13 doubles Tennis tournament
organized by R K M Tennis Academy and reached the semi-finals.
Janardhan Ram.S participated in the Rubik‟s Cube Tournament
organized by “Carte Blanche Cube Open 2018” and
“The World Cube Association” and successfully won
the following events
3x3x3 cube - 24th place,2x2x2 cube - 38th place.
3x3x3 one handed - 34th place.
Sairam.B.Subramaniam participated in the district level under 13 chess
Tournament organized by Chennai District Chess Association. He
competed with 180 participants and won the 26th place at the district
level.
Aswin Arun won the 8th place in the
Lingo Bingo Inter School Scrabble
Tournament conducted by National Public School.
Rishivanth.M, Devprakash.S, Vishvak.A.R and
Adithiya.S were the part of the team that secured the 3rd place in the open category 3x3 Basketball tournament organized by
“Ball is life” Academy.

were part of the basketball team
that won the under 15 Basketball
Tournament organized by PSBB
group of Schools. The players were awarded with gold medal and certificates.

basketball team that secured the 2nd place in the
tournament organized by Vidya Mandir Senior
Secondary School.
Janani.J and Aashika.S were part of the girls‟
basketball team which participated in the
tournament conducted by Vidya Mandir
Senior Secondary School.
Janani.J was part of the basketball team that participated in the
tournament conducted by our School, SSK.
A few students participated in the FILMIT Competition
conducted by INTACH.
Our school won two awards.The movie “St Thomas Mount”
won the best story award.
The team members were Rishivanth.M, Dev.S, Vishvak.A.R,
Darshan.S and Chiranjeevi Madhavan.B.
Sanjitha.S, Akshaya Priyadarshini.C, Yamini.T and Sharulatha.T
secured the award for Best-Unique Story in the FilmIt - 2017. The
film featured in the „unique‟ profession of “Graphology”.

Trisha.S, Avni.K, Nandhini.B and Rithvika Murali.
Field Trip to Chokhi Dhani
Students of class VIII went on a one
day trip to Chokhi Dhani on 9th
February which was fun filled. They
all learned a lot about the Rajasthani
culture.
The magic show, the ghoomar dance
performances by Rajasthani artists,
the camel ride, the bullock cart ride
were very exciting and a new
experience.
The students who opted to have the
Rajasthani cuisine really enjoyed the
unlimited Rajasthani food which was
very delicious.
The students had a thrilling
experience in the Maze. It was a
fun filled day, enjoyed thoroughly
by students.
Special Assembly
Students of class VIII presented
their special assembly on the topic
„Art, Music and Drama’, which was
scheduled on 14th February 2018
in our school auditorium.
Class VIIIA chose the topic drama and presented a short role play on
„Drama‟- The source of entertainment. They took a toddler‟s step and
enacted a shortened version of Shakespeare‟s „Julius Caesar‟.
Class VIII B students displayed an
array of programmes consisting of
speech, showcase of art work and a
debate on art.
Class VIII C students delivered
speeches on famous musicians of past
and present which was followed by a
medley.
The National Science Day was
celebrated on 22-02-2018. VIII A,
B and C were the audience for the
same. A few students from VIII
were part of the celebrations.
It included a speech, followed by a
prayer song, and a PowerPoint
presentation.
The chief guest for the occasion was
Dr.M.L.Raja, an ophthalmologist from
Pondicherry.
His presentation was about the valuable
contribution of Indians in the field of
science which formed the foundation of
various research work of the present. His
speech about different scientific aspects
was very enlightening and enriching.
Some students of middle school
demonstrated simple experiments to
explain the different scientific facts
which were well received by all.
