Challenge

A wave template can not be constructed for raw material picking and a demand replenishment method can be

added for production orders and Kanban's. The capabilities correspond to the capabilities for sales order

picking and transfer order picking. Lack of capabilities have resulted in production raw material shortage, and

disruption in production processes. When raw materials have not been able to be moved from the warehouse

to input locations of the production facility, there was no any mechanism to ensure that picking locations get

replenished. This has often resulted in shortage of the raw materials and only way was to manually move the

materials to picking locations and re-wave the lines. This was very time consuming and manual process.

Solution

A wave template can now be constructed for raw material picking and a demand replenishment method can

be added for production orders and Kanban's. The capabilities correspond to the capabilities for sales order

picking and transfer order picking. Demand replenishment is now fully supported for all outbound and raw

material operations.

2012 R3)

Overview of Immediate Replenishment

Immediate replenishment allows you to replenish inventory right after a location directive line fails, instead of

summing all demand at the end of allocation and replenishing it based on the summed quantity. This allows

you to set up replenishment to be restricted by specific units and quantity to go to specific locations.

Where it applies

Immediate replenishment is used during wave execution if allocation fails for a location directive line that has a

replenishment template set.

How it is setup

On location directive setup, a replenishment template that is type wave demand, can be selected on the

location directive line. This will be the replenishment template that runs if the location directive line fails to

allocate.
