Senior Model United Nations (Student-led Club)

What is MUN? Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation

of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in

international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. The participants role-play

as diplomats representing a nation or NGO in a simulated session of a committee of the

United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Participants research

a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate,

consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.

The club members participate in 3 conferences a year. The first one is THIMUN (The Hague

International MUN) in Singapore, the second is BRITMUN (British School of Beijing MUN)

and the third is BEIMUN (Beijing MUN at ISB). Club members are required to attend at least

one conference per season.

CASC Youth Leadership Club

The goal of CASC Youth Leadership Programme is to discover students' self-awareness and

influence. Life is about discovering yourself, and leadership is about discovering a better self.

When a person has great competence and profound wisdom, one can use his/her ability to

affect and help the people around him/her. This is our definition of leadership and “a better

self”.

So, the theme of this season's leadership curriculum is “A Better Self”. We would like to

invite you to explore more about leadership, an “ideal leader”, and “a better self”. The first

step to become better is to give you guidance and a hint that you are ready to change. After

doing it, you will find out that health, relationships, family, learning, work, interests, and

community will change as well. The curriculum will support you to define your goals and

build your skills. You will gain practical leadership skills such as goal setting, time

management, active listening, public speaking and communication. You will gradually make

breakthroughs by practicing and find out your changes by reflecting.

13-Dimensions is a school magazine coving topics such Academics, Creative Writing, School

two months. All profits earned from sponsorship, advertisements and selling will go to the

charity organization 'Dew Drops' in support of De Ping a child with skin disease, and a

congenital heart defect.

Forensics (speech and debate) is a club in which students practice and develop their public

In ukulele and guitar club, we will give you a relax and happy environment to play music.

Students can practice hands-on ability through their intense study environment, and at the

GO Game Club (Student-led Club)

Have you heard of the Go Game? Do you know the legendary tale of the origin of this game?

Do you know that being adept in the game can help improve your logical thinking skill? If

you don’t, well, here is a chance for you! The BWYA Go Game Club is student-led club in

which the cultural implication and the charm of the Go Game are perceived! Students from

all grades are welcome to join! You do not need prior experience, deep understanding of the

game whatsoever; what you truly need is the passion and enthusiasm towards learning! Our

normal schedule mainly consists of three parts: teaching, practicing and competing. Internal

competitions will take place at the end of this season; the winner will be rewarded with a

special gift! We are a group of students who started playing the Go Game from scratch;

taking this path is both a wonderful yet arduous journey. However, after all, we started to

realize the benefits it beings. We hope to pass this knowledge on so that every student in this

community can benefit as well!

Hypercube Club (Student-led Club)

The BWYA Hypercube club is back with more intriguing and challenging games! Through

the course of the last semester, this club has cultivated outstanding Rubik’s cube players.

This semester, we are going to introduce more interesting games such as Sudoku, abacus

calculation, and most importantly, Rubik’s cubes with more complex structures. Again, you

do not need any prior experience in any of the games to join this club! Members with more

experience will be learning more advanced skills while ab initio members will be instructed

individually. Together, we welcome all of you no matter what your background is and what

your experience shows as we offer equal chances and equal opportunities to express

yourselves freely and independently.

Attention HS students! Please be noted that a brand-new club Economics Club has been

newly supplied to the market this semester! You have demands; we meet them! For current

DP student: It is a great opportunity for you to review class materials, ask questions, as well

as learn more new and fun stuff about economics. For Grade 9 and 10: This club works for

you too! You can get a sense about what is economics and how economics is involved in

your daily life. This club can also prepare you with some fundamental knowledge if you want

to choose Economics for your DP courses. This club will also benefit students who are

interested in taking an economics-related competition – the National Economics Challenge

(NEC)! The top 20 teams winning the Chinese National competition will compete with teams

around the world in the United States! We will give you a brief introduction to the

competition and guide you through it step by step. You will also have an opportunity to

prepare for the test together with others! Hurry up and we can reach an equilibrium together!

Our club will allow you a chance to teach teachers and/or Ayis Chinese or English.

Want SA hours? Join us and you will get SA hours and CAS experiences for creativity and

service! During club meetings, we will teach you how to teach teachers, make lesson plans

and all the nits and bits on teaching and completing your SA (from proposals to

reflections). Clubs meetings will be flexible, and you do not need to come every Friday. We

also offer one-on-one language courses other than Chinese and English; such as German,

Spanish and other languages.
