COMMITTEE CHAIRS

THE SENENMUT CHAPTERIn a place as frigid as Buffalo, it warms our heart to have a brotherhood as strong as the Senenmut chapter. Starting our fourteenth year as a chapter, we have been developing our committees, furthering our professionalism, and deepening our brotherhood bond. As we add to our policies and procedures document and find our best practices within committees, we have grown as an organization. Our chapter includes 22 collegiate members and 6 pledges. This past year, we hosted three professional workshops with faculty and alumni, fundraised a notable amount selling “Archoholic” shirts, hosted program tutorials to freshman students, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity twice, fundraised and volunteered for Relay for Life, and spent many memorable moments together. We found that by organizing and utilizing our google drive folders, we can plan more successful events. We sent Brother Benjamin Ezquerra to Leadership Conference in the fall, and will send him to Convention. Two of our other collegiate members, Danielle Kwong and Natasha Mendis, will be attending convention as well. Four of our brothers traveled to Syracuse, NY to help install the Skopas colony at Syracuse University. The Senenmut Alumni scholarship was awarded to Emily Minkowitz last spring and Benjamin Ezquerra this spring. Our regional director Michelle Finan and Vitruvius alumni visited our ritual Fall 2018 and provided us with feedback and advice.

COLLEGIATE MEMBERS BROTHERHOODWe held a (brothers’ favorite) bowling recruitment event each semester this past year, as well as tie-dye and visiting the Albright Knox Art Gallery. Our pledges and brothers took place in the PIFC Pledge Hunger Games in the fall, which used canned goods as admission that were later donated. We recruited six pledges in the fall and six pledges in the spring. Our current pledges include Roxi Augilar, Ashley Godoy, Rachel Kramp, Brian Kwong, Naomi Romero, and Taylor Wallace.

OUTREACHThe outreach committee sold “Archoholic” shirts to the School of Architecture and Planning, making a profit of more than $400. We also sold stickers and plants and held bake sales to fund-raise. We visited local architecture firms to net-work with professionals and some alumni. We held a portfolio redlining event and resume workshop which were a success and helpful to our brothers and the school. We also helped teach tutorials to freshman in their media cours-es.

PUBLIC EVENTSLast spring we volunteered our time and donated over $300 at Relay for Life. We volunteered with Habitat for Humanity Buffalo, and walked in the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” walk around UB’s south campus to support the fight against sexual violence. This spring we raised over $150 for Relay for Life through a bake sale and are still fundraising. We will put on a presentation and potluck- style dinner for our faculty at our annual Faculty Appreciation event. Our social events are always a memorable time, and include a trip to the pumpkin patch, decorating flannels with APX letters, a zumba class led by past Worthy Advisor Ariadne Billy, potluck “Friendsgiving”, and watching movies while doing homework in the chapter room.
