Title: How to Select the Proper Enclosure or Kiosk for Your AV and Digital Signage

Projects

Date: Wednesday October 9th

Time: 10:00 am - 10:45 am

Room: To be determine

Topic:

The growth in Digital Signage applications has increased the demand for enclosures and kiosks.

The initial priority was protection against vandalism. However; there are many other factors that

must be considered in finding the best enclosure solution for your specific project. To do this, it

is suggested you should think both inside and outside the box. Outside the box: dust, moisture,

temperature, extreme security etc... Inside the box: display and other hardware specs to be

enclosed, internal temperature control, adequate ventilation, connectivity etc.

By reviewing these factors, looking at real case studies and open dialogue, we will hopefully be

more informed.

Bio

Thinklogical

Title: Next-Generation C3 Centre Design

Date: Wednesday October 9th

Time: 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm

Room: To be determine

Topic: Best Practices for Enabling Instant Situational Awareness

Thinklogical manufactures IA-accredited KVM (keyboard, video & mouse) extension and

switching systems certified to manage multiple classifications of information through a single

highly-secure infrastructure.

◼ The nature of warfare has changed – events are less predictable and required response

times are in hours or even minutes

◼ Commanders need to quickly assess a vast amount of historical information and access

real time video for missions that were unknown just minutes beforehand

◼ Multiple analysts must have access to multiple sources of information at multiple

classifications and be able to quickly and freely collaborate

◼ Systems need to be easily scalable reconfigurable and mobile/deployable

Neutralization of the Insider Threat

◼ Unfettered access to classified information creates the opportunity for accidental,

negligent or intentional corruption, compromise or theft of data

◼ As information collection and storage multiplies, the possibility and impact of data

breach events grows exponentially

◼ While cyber attacks are a well-known major concern, the military and intelligence

community must have a similar level of focus on mitigating the Insider Threat

Title: The Modern Workspace: Wired and Wireless AV Collaboration

Date: Wednesday October 9th

Time: 4:00 pm - 4:45 pm

Room: To be determine

Topic: Communication in the workplace

With AV collaboration rooms and collaboration hardware and software on the rise, current CATx

infrastructure makes integration of these technologies possible with relative ease. With our

ability to connect from nearly anywhere in the world, collaboration rooms have become

commonplace and more popular than ever. Communication in the workplace is necessary in all

forms and has become an integral part of projects, planning, and management. Employees are

more commonly using BYO style devices and are tasked with sharing content from a variety of

different operating systems often using software codecs like SKYPE or ZOOM as their means of

connecting. Solutions are emerging that make these modern workspaces simpler to install and

design. We will discuss Video over Twisted Pair, including HDBaseT, HDMI, and USB. Focus will

be placed on Recording and Streaming to remote locations followed by a discussion into the

new world of AV over IP and network infrastructure at our conclusion.

Real Chevalier Bio

Real has been in the AV industry for more than 35 years as a service technician for TV

broadcaster, fixing cameras and VTR. In 2000 he reoriented his career to the AV industry as

system designer and AV control and DSP programmer working for AV resellers. In 2012 he was

Title: Audio essentials in Video conferencing UC Solutions

Date: Thursday October 10th

Time: 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

Room: To be determine

Topic:

Audio is the most essential element for effective remote collaboration. Without audio, other

collaborative technologies are essentially ineffective. Today's communications are wholly or

partly on the public Internet network, meaning no quality of service (QoS). If you work in a small

space with only few participants, your conferencing device may only require an embedded DSP

chip to produce quality audio. However, if you're using a large conferencing system with many

microphones and speakers, you'll need a standalone DSP appliance to handle the workload.

What are mechanisms to effectively processes all types of echo and noise suppression,

regardless of the room, to hear and to be heard from far end participants?

Maurice Duchesne Bio

Maurice Duchesne has over 30 years of experience in business development and

technical support for world-class telecommunications and information technology

manufacturers: AT & T - British Telecom - Allstream - Mitel - SpectraLink – Polycom

LifeSize – RadVision – Avaya - ClearOne. Maurice, a visionary of technological

developments, is often seen as a forerunner of potential applications in the

workplace and knows how to benefit organizations of all sizes.

Since 2008 he has been assisting companies and public sector organizations in the

implementation of Real Time Communications (RTC) within Unified Communications.

In 2013 he founded UC&C Consulting Inc, a consulting firm/ a solution architect contractor

focusing on strategic business development and technical support in Canadian marketplace while
