DAY 1 Rome Arrival at Rome airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation in Rome.

DAY 2 Rome Breakfast at the hotel. A morning departure for a walking tour, the tour will start from Largo Argentina and continue to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the tour will end at the Spanish Steps. Return to hotel by your own means. Afternoon and evening is at leisure. Accommodation in Rome.

DAY 3 Rome • Naples • Pompeii • Sorrento 275 km Breakfast box (must be requested at the reception the night before). Early morning departure for Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, the guide will take you for a walking tour of the historical centre to admire the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Galleria Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. Lunch in a local restaurant of Neapolitan specialities. From Naples, continue to Pompeii and enjoy a short visit to a coral and cameo factory, followed by a guided visit of the city’s ruins, both destroyed and preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Continue towards Sorrento. Supper and accommodation in Sorrento.

DAY 4 Sorrento • Capri • Sorrento 40 km After breakfast, transfer to the port and depart by ferry to the island of Capri. Upon arrival at Marina Grande in Capri, you will visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting), the Augustus Gardens and a stop at the famous Piazzetta. A minibus will take you up to Anacapri, located at the summit of the island. After lunch in Anacapri return to Marina Grande to board the ferry for your transfer back to the hotel in Sorrento. Supper and accommodation in Sorrento.

DAY 5 Sorrento • Castellana Grotte • Alberobello • Castellana Grotte 370 km Breakfast at the hotel and

depart for the region of Puglia. Along the way you will visit Castellana Grotte and its caves. The caves ʺgrottoʺ of Castellana Grotte are one of the most important attractions of Puglia. Time at leisure for lunch and continue to Alberobelllo, the town of the ʺTrulliʺ. The Trulli are typical houses with cone shaped roofs, used as homes and to store farming utensils. You will enjoy a wine tasting in a local wine cellar. Return to Castellana Grotte for supper and accommodation.

DAY 6 Castellana Grotte • Lecce • Gallipoli • Ostuni • Castellana Grotte 336 km Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Lecce, famous for its baroque art and architecture. You will enjoy a panoramic city tour passing by historical sites. Continue to Gallipoli, comes from the Greek Kallipolis, meaning beautiful city, a fishing village built on a limestone island and linked to the mainland by a 16th century bridge. Free time for lunch. Continue towards Ostuni, also known as the ʺwhite town because of its white walls and white painted houses. Return to the hotel in Castellana Grotte for supper and accommodation.

DAY 7 Castellana Grotte • Matera • Pompei • Rome 524 km After breakfast depart for Matera, a town internationally known for its “Sassi” (stones). The Sassi are houses dug into the tuff rock itself, which is characteristic of the Basilicata and Puglia region. One of the peculiarities of this ancient city is that there is a great similarity with the ancient sites in and around Jerusalem. Time is at leisure for a snack in Matera and return via Pompeii where you will board a bus for Rome. Depending on the traffic, the estimated arrival time in Rome is 21:00. Accommodation in Rome.

DAY 8 Rome After breakfast, transfer to Rome airport.
