2. Add eggs to boiling water & immediately lower the burner temperature so the water is merely simmering, not boiling.

3. Cook eggs for 12 to 15 minutes.

4. Drain out hot water. Run cold water over eggs for about a minute after the timer goes off and let them soak a bit to cool off.
