SELF ASSESSMENT:- (TECHNIQUE- OBSERVATION , RATING SCALE)
DEF.- It is the process of looking at oneself in order to assess aspects that are important to one’s identity.
DEF. – It is a process to reflect on students own work , judge how well they have performed in relation to the assessment criteria.

USES/ ADVANTAGES/BENEFITS OF SELF ASSESSMENT
It realizes ways in which to improve themselves.
Encourage students to take greater responsibility for their learning.
Increase the motivation for the learner. Then enable student to better understand the expectation.
It identifies students strengths and weaknesses eg. Using rubric.
It increases content retention.

ADVANTAGES E.g. appearing for the written you evaluate
and assess and study the content again. It is low stress process for the students. It promotes independent learning. It creates good environment in the learning
process. It improves quality of good work because
criteria is in front of you. It is used in conjunction with peer and
teacher assessment.

LIMITATIONS Criteria are essential to support for
good self assessment. Students have an ability to assess the
work accurately. Training and practice is required. E.g.
can’t use rubric. Environment of trust in the classroom
is required.
