CALL UP INSTRUCTIONS FOR SSB : NDA-145 COURSE

TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NOTIFICATION FOR NDA-145 COURSE (UPSC EXAMINATION NOTICE NO. 04/2020-NDA-I DT 08 JAN 2020)

1. This is to inform you that you have been shortlisted to attend SSB interview at Selection Centre East, Allahabad. 2. You are required to report at the main gate of Selection Centre East, Allahabad on date and time allotted by Selection Centre East. 3. COVID-19 ADVISORY.

(a) Candidates will have Aarogya Setu app installed in their phones prior to leaving home station for selection centre. Screen shot of having green status on the said app will be taken prior to leaving home. The same will be checked at the time of reporting at the selection centre. (b) Candidates will preferably not travel from any containment zones. (c) Candidates will ensure that all documents including any affidavit for wrong name or tattoos etc as stated in the call up letter are brought along. In case a candidate fails to produce the required documents at the time of reporting the candidature will stand cancelled and NO repeat NO representation will be accepted at any stage. (d) Latest passport size photographs not older than one week, will be brought and failure to produce the same at the time of reporting will render a candidate disqualified for appearing for the SSB. Nobody would allowed to leave the premises for any documentation or getting photograph. (e) Those candidates who are selected in stage I for stage II will not be allowed to go out of the selection centre premises for any purposes in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. (f) All candidates are advised to carry Durrie, Bed Sheet and Pillow cover (Light Bedding). These items will not be provided by the centre. (g) Candidates are advised to carry adequate clothing that will be required for their stay of two weeks in case recommended for selection as there shall be no laundry facilities till the pandemic is over. All candidates will carry their personal face masks, face shield, gloves, hand sanitiser and water bottles. (h) Candidates are advised to ensure that they do not carry any medication with them including any generic medicine. Any medical assistance required will be provided at Selection Centre. There will be a check of body temperature at least thrice a day during their stay with the selection centre. During stage-1, medical check will be carried out at every stage of testing to ensure that the candidates are safe.

(j) Medical Certificate All candidates will carry a COVID-19 negative certificate from an ICMR approved lab not more than two days old before leaving home. In case he is not in possession of an ICMR approved COVID-19 test report, candidates will be in possession of COVID-19 free/negative certificate duly signed by a registered medical practitioner not more than two days old before leaving home. Medical certificate will be retained during documents checking by this Selection Centre. Sample certificate attached at Appendix ‘A’ which should be strictly followed. (k) NO RISK CANDIDATES. All candidates will carry and submit a COVID-19 ‘No Risk Certificate’ before coming for ssb. in case of minors, the same is to be signed by their parents/ natural guardians as per Appendix ‘B’ attached.

(l) Candidates having any symptoms related to COVID-19 are advised not to move from his /her home station. (m) Candidate will be returned back if symptoms like fever, cold, cough & running nose are detected at the Rxn area and will not be allowed for stg-1 screening.

(n) QUARANTINE POLICY. All CANDIDATES WILL MEET THE QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RESPECTIVE STATES BEFORE THEIR DUE DATE OF REPORTING FOR THE SSB BATCH.

(o) Candidates are advised to get travel details (i.e. from PLACE OF RESIDENCE to SCE, ALLAHABAD) as per following :-

Note : Valid ticket before leaving home is required for cross-checking of date of issue of COVID -ve certificate. For example, if a candidate is commencing his/ her journey on 06 (Six) day of any months then, the certificate has to be issued not before 04 (Fourth) of that month.

(p) DO’s and DONT’s while undergoing SSB :-

(i) Wear mask at all the time and before putting on mask, clean hand with soap and water. Replace mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single use mask.

(ii) Regularly and thoroughly clean your hand with soap and water prior to verification of documents and appearing for the tests.

(iii) Maintain at least one metre / three feet) distance amongst each other. Also no congregation of more than three candidates under any circumstances.

(iv) Don’t touch your body parts on any surface unnecessarily.

(v) Maintain good respiratory hygiene ie cover your mouth and nose with tissue paper when cough or sneeze. Then dispose off the used tissue immediately in the covered dustbin and wash your hand with soap and water.

(vi) Inform and seek immediate medical attention in case of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.

(vii) No out pass for candidates during the SSB. (viii) Finally, be supportive, be careful, be alert and be safe.

4. Candidates will have to make onward and return (after screening out/conference out/medical examination as the case may be) rail reservation at his own arrangements. No rail reservation will be made by this organization.

5. In case a candidate has a close relative/parent posted in the Selection Centre, East, he is required to withhold his move and contact us immediately through e-mail/Tele/Dak. Withholding information or giving false information in this regard will render you liable for cancellation of candidature and or disqualification of commission in case detected subsequently. 6. Documents. You will bring along the following documents at the time of reporting for interview:-

(a) Original along with one self attested copy of matriculation Passing Certificate or equivalent certificate for proof of date of birth. Admit card/ Marksheet/ Transfer/ Leaving Certificate are not acceptable for proof of date of birth.

(b) Original along with one copy of 12th Class Passing Certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification. (c) Candidates Who Have Submitted Their Certificates and Mark Sheets in College or Institution for Pursuing Higher Studies. Please bring a bonafide certificate along with certified true copy of those documents as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘C’.

(d) 12th class appearing candidates are required to bring certificate from their college/ school as per format attached at Appendix ‘D’ and self Declaration as per Appendix ‘E’. (e) Risk Certificate as per Appendix ‘F’. (f) Certificate for not having duplicate profiles/registration IDs as per Appendix ‘G’. (g) Candidates are also required to bring all certificates in original. Originals will be returned after verification at the Service Selection Board ITSELF. Any candidate who does not carry these entire documents for the SSB interview, he will not be allowed to go through the selection procedure at this Centre.

(h) Proof of Identity. Proof of identity with photograph such as voter ID (or) PAN card (or) driving license (or) passport or Aadhar Card.

(j) Certificate of Previous Candidature / SSB Attempt. Format is attached as Appendix - ‘H’.

7. The Acceptable Date of Birth. Refer to Page 4, Para 3(b) of UPSC Examination Notice No. 04/2020-NDA-I dt 08 Jan 2020. 8. APPLICABLE FOR SERVICE CANDIDATES ONLY. SERVICE CANDIDATES WILL BE ENTERTAINED AT THE SELECTION CENTRE FOR THEIR SSB INTERVIEW ONLY IF THEY REPORT ON MOVEMENT ORDER AS WELL AS PRODUCE NOC ISSUED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMANDING OFFICER. ALL DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED STRICTLY AS PER THIS CALL UP INSTRS.

9. Those Candidates who have yet to Qualify in the 12th Class or Equivalent Examination and are Allowed to Appear in the UPSC Examination. Refer to Page 6, Note 2 of UPSC Examination Notice No. 04/2020-NDA-I dt 08 Jan 2020. 8. Permanent Body Tattoo (s).

(a) Only small innocuous permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm / back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.

(b) Documents Required to be Submitted. In case of permissible tattoos, under mentioned Appendices to DG Recruiting ‘Tattoo Policy for candidates appearing for SSB Interview with Permanent Body Tattoos’ are required to be submitted for being allowed to continue with selection process :- (i) Tribal Communities. Appendix A & B. Formats attached as Exhibit I &II. (ii) Non Tribal Communities. Appendix D. Format attached as Exhibit III. (c) Please refer detailed Policy on permanent body tattoo available at web-link http:/www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/writereaddata/portal/Images/pdf/tattopolicy2015.pdf (Available under ‘Policies’ – ‘Officers Selection’).

9. Special Instructions : Variations in Personal Particulars. Candidates MUST thoroughly scrutinise all requisite Certificates and documents, including the Online Application/ UPSC Admit Card to check if there is any variation in the personal particulars – Candidate’s Name & Parents Name from document to document. In case of minor variations also (Eg :- Initials in name, spelling mistakes, suffixing of middle name / surname etc), the candidates are required to submit an Affidavit stating the variations in the personal particulars in specific documents and corrective actions taken thereto (to be elaborated in details). Following aspects be kept in mind while preparing the Affidavit :-

(a) The personal particulars – Candidate’s Name & Parents Name as contained in Matriculation or Equivalent Certificate only will be acceptable. (b) Due care be taken to address all the variations without leaving any scope for interpretations/ assumptions whatsoever of such variations from document to document . In absence of correct affidavit, the candidate will be returned back without entertaining any representations.

Note 1:- Candidates declared successful in the SSB interview are required to submit at the earliest a photocopy duly self attested of all such provisional degree/degree certificate acquired after the SSB interview to Directorate General of Recruiting, New Delhi. Note 2 :- Candidates are further advised that documents already verified at the Selection Centre need not be submitted again to IHQ MoD (Army). In case of loss of such documents, the onus will entirely rest upon the candidate. Instruction for Attention of Candidates

10. Testing Procedure at SSB. This will be conducted over five days including the day of arrival, in two stages :-

(a) Stage I. The Stage I testing shall commence at 06.30AM on the first day and will comprise of an Intelligence Test and a Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT). (b) In case of your rejection in Stage I, you shall be returned from the Centre in the afternoon of the same day. (c) Stage II. The Stage II tests comprises of Psychological Tests, Group Test I & II and Interview for the next four days.

11. Compensation. Government is not responsible for any compensation to the candidates or to their guardians/ heirs for injuries sustained by them during the period of testing or while using military transport.

12. Travelling Allowance (TA). Refer to Page No. 12, Para 7 of UPSC Examination Notice No. 04/2020-NDA-I dt 08 Jan 2020. In addition to above, candidates will submit the following:-

(a) You are authorized to travel by AC III Tier / AC Chair Car for the shortest route, TA

will be paid as per defence travel rule. (b) No re-imbursement of TA will be permitted in the absence of hard copy of ticket.

(c) You are entitled for TA when you attend the interview for a permanent

commission/ short service commission for the first time in defence services. Such allowance is not admissible for second or subsequent attempts for the same type of commission.

(d) Re-imbursement of TA will be electronic transfer to your Bank Account through NEFT. You are advised to carry sufficient amount in cash for your return journey and personal expenses during your stay at Selection Centre East, Allahabad. TA to eligible candidate will be paid through direct bank transfer and therefore the onus for providing correct details rests with the candidate. SCE will not be responsible for non transfer of TA due to incorrect details. (e) Candidates are requested to give details of travel and of the account in which they desire the TA to be remitted giving their bank details (Acct No, Bank Name, IFSC Code No, Bank Code No., Branch Name, Address & Beneficiary name) for claiming TA as per format at Appendix ‘J’. Candidates are requested to bring one cancelled cheque of the account number.

13. Use of Concession Form. If you make use of any concession (from defence or any other department), you will not be paid the TA. 14. Testing. Refer to Page No. 15, Para 9 of UPSC Examination Notice No. 04/2020-NDA-I dt 08 Jan 2020. 15. Medical Examination. Candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical board. The details for the same are available at official website of Directorate General Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in 16. Physical Conditioning. Refer to Appendix IV, Page 30, UPSC Examination Notice No. 04/2020-NDA-I dt 08 Jan 2020. 17. Administrative Instructions. Following administrative instructions are laid down for Candidates guidance and strict compliance :-

(a) Cash and Valuables. It is advised that, a maximum of Rupees One Thousand over and above what is required for travelling expense may be carried. No valuables should be carried. Safe custody of cash and valuables will be the responsibility of the candidates. (b) All candidates are advised to carry Durrie, Bed Sheet and Pillow cover (Light Bedding). These items will not be provided by the centre.

(c) No individual will be allowed to go out of the SCE premises on the day of screening test. Hence it is advised that you must bring your luggage with you at the time of reporting. (d) Candidates will strictly adhere to laid down timings at all places. (e) Candidates will not visit testing areas after testing hours. (f) The conduct of the candidates both in the Selection Centre will be courteous. (g) Mobile phones will be deposited on arrival and their usage during the stay at SCE, Allahabad is strictly prohibited.

(h) Any contravention of above orders / any act of indiscipline/ malpractices or cheating during testing will invite immediate cancellation of candidature on disciplinary grounds. Cases of serious breach of discipline and conduct will be handed over to civil police and FIR registered accordingly. (j) Candidates must book their return journey tickets in advance to avoid any inconvenience as he/ she has to leave the Selection Centre on the same day after declaration of result of Stg-I/ Stg-II/ Medical (SMB) by 1800hrs/ 06:00PM.
