World Health Organization4 March 2015 Geneva - A new WHO guideline recommends adults and children reduce their daily intake of free sugars to less than 10% of their total energy intake. A further reduction to below 5% or roughly 25 grams (6 teaspoons) per day would provide additional health benefits.
2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans USDA recommends limiting added sugars to less than 10% of calories per day In July of 2018 Nutrition Facts panel must include a line for added sugars

Less Processed SugarCoconut Sugar - Sap tapped from the blossom stems of the coconut palm tree. Syrup or crystal form.
Jaggery - Concentrated mixture of date palm, coconut palm, or sugar cane juice crystals and molasses pressed into a cone or cake shape. Coarse, golden to dark brown. S Asia and Africa.
Muscovado - Evaporate sugar cane crystals and molasses mixture that is not separated. Dark color, very flavorful, sticky wet sand texture.
Rapidura, Turbinado and Demerara - Sugar crystalized from first press of cane juice. Contains various amounts of molasses. Rapidura has smallest light brown crystals. Turbinado has large, off-white crystals. Demerara has very large light brown crystals.
