September #13

In the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) 6 young cadets stay in the castle of Chapultepec during the Battle of Chapultepec. When the American troops broke through the capitol’s protective barriers, and went to the castle of Chapultepec. But when they arrived the boys refused to surrender the castle to them. In September 13 1847, 5 of the boys were killed. And that day is say, the last of the boys, Juan Escutia, put the Mexican flag to protect the castle from the invaders.

In September 16 1810, a catholic priest name Miguel Hidalgo went to the church in the town of Dolores and start to cry "Long live Our Lady of Guadalupe (a symbol of the Americans’ faith), death to bad government, and death to the Spaniards!" and it was call “El Grito de Dolores”. That day the independence of Mexico to Spain was established.

November #20

In November 20 of 1910, was the start of the Revolution. It occur to overrule the dictator Porfirio Díaz from Mexico. He had being in power for more than 30 years (1876-1911), in that time, many people were unhappy and suffer. Francisco I. Madero found the Anti Reelection's Party (which mean that one cant be president more than one’s). He was sent to jail but got free and start to rebel some cities from Diaz power. At the end Diaz had no choice but to resign and had to abandon the country.
