Introduction

Bangladesh Meteorological Department is the only responsible organization in Bangladesh for monitoring earthquake and Tsunami.

This Presentation indicates the status of seismic monitoring, early warning communication systems and the data processing system of BMD.

Seismic Network of BMD

BMD’s seismic monitoring system nation-wide consists of four digital Broad-Band Seismometers, two Borehole, two digital short-period seismometers

and six accelerometers with GPS Synchronization
