The Somali Basin and contiguous sedimentary basins comprise aloian inverted L-shaped area of about 1,300,000 square miles in the rep2western Indian Ocean, bounded by the African coasts of Somalia, pro(Kenya, and Tanzania on the west, the Carlsberg Ridge on the north mairand east, and the northwest coast of the Malagasi Republic(Madagascar) and the Amirante Ridge-trench complex on the south-west. hopE
