A journey in timeThe story of SEIKO begins in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori, opened a clock repair store in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, the company made its fi rst clock and, in 1895, its fi rst pocket watch. PERPETUAL KALENDERNår kalenderen er innstilt tar den automatisk hensyn til om måneden har 30 eller 31 dager samt februar og skuddår. Man behøver da ikke å stille datoen etter måneder som ikke har 31 dager.

DIRECT DRIVEEn Kinetic som i tillegg til å produsere strøm ved bevegelse også kan lades ved å vri på kronen. Både påført kraft og gjenværende energinivå vises på tallskiven med egen viser.

TITANTitan er et unikt metall som på grunn av sin letthet brukes i fl y, romferger og ubåter. Metallet er ekstremt motstandsdyktig og 100% nikkelfritt. I klokker som er laget av titan, oppleves kontrasten mellom metallets styrke og letthet. Titanfargen gir dessuten klokken et tøft preg. Titan klokke – godt egnet for allergikere.

VANNTETTHETNår klokken er ny merkes den med hvor tett kassen er og hvor mye vann den tåler.

30M/3BAR/3ATM tilsier at klokken er vannbeskyttet og tåler tilfeldig sprut av vann og regn, men er ikke beregnet på bading/dusjing.

50M/5BAR/5ATM tilsier at klokken tåler svømming og dusjing.

100M/10BAR/10ATM tilsier at klokken passer til svømming og snorkeldykking, men ikke trykkluftdykking.

Skal en klokke brukes til trykkluftdykking må klokken være merket med DIVER og minst 200M/20BAR/20ATM.

For at klokken skal opprettholde sine tetthetsmerkninger må de trykktestes og pakninger må byttes/smøres minimum annethvert år.

SAFIRGLASSMeget ripebeskyttet glass med en hardhet som kun overgås av diamant og noen andre harde krystaller.

DIAMANTEREdle stener som brukes både i kasse og lenke samt på tallskiver. Diamantsertifi kat medfølger Seiko klokker med diamanter – som et ekthetsbevis.
