GOOD COUNSEL
PRIMARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER
SEEK, LEARN AND SERVE
16TH JUNE 2020
Dear Parents/Carers
Over the past month, much of my time has
been spent conducting enrolment
interviews for Prep 2021 students. The
difference this year has been that the vast
majority of interviews have been via zoom
instead of face to face in the office. For
2021, we have both Prep classes full at this
stage, with a waiting list, which is the first
time in several years. Despite a few
technical glitches, all interviews have gone
very well. Remaining interviews will take
place over the next few weeks, ready for
our Under 8’s Day and our Pre-Prep
sessions that begin mid next term.

engaged to capture students inside and out
of the classroom. We had to upgrade our
gallery as some of the photographs were of
students now in secondary school. Most of
the shots were of our younger classes so
we get a number of years of use out of the
photos.
Our new highway billboards will have the
fantastic shot of Gurnoor, Mia, Ryan and
Sebastian who are all from Prep. You will
see their magnificent smiles as you drive
past in the coming weeks.
With regard to COVID-19 restrictions for the
beginning of Term 3, we have been given
advice that we have to continue parent
drop-off. No large gatherings or
assemblies. Once these restrictions are
lifted we will be able to hold our disco, sport
events, regular assemblies and full
integration with parents on site. Thank you
for you co-operation regarding these
restrictions.
Regards Liam

Term 2 Matters...
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus...
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus points us to God’s love which we can
see in Jesus’ kindness and care. Let us pray all may feel God’s love.
God of love, open wide our hearts so that we might know the great love you
make visible in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
This time, The Old Testament Competition...
Another opportunity for Year 3– 6 students, to win a
frozie by correctly naming the 39 Books of the Old
Testament. Forms available from Mrs C from tomorrow.
Competition closes Friday 19 June, with class winners

Last week’s New Testament Competition...
Last week’s New Testament Competition winner was Meg Hurney 6H 27/27.
Thank you to everyone who entered—remember correct spelling is essential.
Wellbeing...
Feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health of an individual,
enabling them to successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what they want
out of life. A child's wellbeing will be affected by the wellbeing of their
parents so it is essential that parents take time for themselves in this respect.
Let us be aware of
increasing our wellbeing:
Connect—Each person we
meet is a doorway into
another world. Be Active,
Keep Learning, Help Others,
Take Notice.
