Good evening gentlemen,I am here to introduce you to SafeSquid.If you are already connected to the business of Web Security, Internet Security, Content Filtering etc., I am sure you will find the next 10 minutes to be very interesting. I am not going to spend my 50 dollars a minute on telling you the financial dimensions of web-security market. I am sure you guys know it more than anybody else. I will rather spend my next 9 minutes in telling you what we have done so far, and what we want to do next, and invite you to join us in any way that you think makes business sense to you.And since I dont know how to do it in 4 slides, I will stick to my usual 10 slide presentation.

The proof-of-pudding lies in eating. So before any body starts to have a doubt about our capabilities let me first introduce you to people who asked us to make an invoice, and then happily proceeded to pay for what we gave them. Good morning gentlemen,I am Manish.I have spent over 15 years in helping people to use IT.Hacking inside the operating systems, to find ways of making it more robust, efficient and reliable, has been my favorite activity, ever since I started using computers. This hobby eventually led me into studying computer viruses, and develop an ability to deal with viruses and other such malware. For many years I helped large and small enterprises in using the various security software, efficiently and cost-effectively. For some years I have also represented major AntiVirus Software companies in India, and created valuable strategic partnerships that allowed major application vendors, to incorporate security features natively in their overall product offerings.Some years back, I could foresee the growth of WWW as we see it today, and estimated that the proliferation of Internet usage, would bring new challenges that could not be dealt with an AntiVirus Software. Gateway level email security, was just turning into a mature and productified solution.So with just the support of my self-confidence and self-belief, and my fathers encouragements, I set up SafeSquid Labs.

The mission of SafeSquid Labs was to produce solutions for a secured web-gateway.The specifications were very simple The solutions should be universally applicable.A downloadable and installable packaged solution was therefore a natural distribution format.We branded our solution as SafeSquid.SafeSquid today has hundreds of users world-wide, I may therefore dare say that we have done a fairly good job, technically.

Use of Internet is not restricted to any particular segment, and is really quite prevalent in all walks of life and businesses.The focus of SafeSquid labs was to develop a comprehensive and technically holistic solution, that could deal with most complex challenges that one would normally witness in large networks and diverse business segments.

The enterprises that you see on the right are those that have have been commercially associated with SafeSquid.Each used SafeSquid differently from others, and had an entirely different reason to use SafeSquid.Orange, Motorola, & Wipro, have used SafeSquid to complete critical parts of the overall solution for their customers.Orange used SafeSquid for a very complex requirement of a University while Motorola used it for an ISP in Bahrain.Sify was looking for a cost-effective yet technically competitive solution, to bid for some Indian Government Tenders, Redhat their solution partner, recommended the use of SafeSquid.Similarly SuSe has decided SafeSquid to be the solution to be recommended to all its customers for the purpose of web-security.Bell was setting up Internet Kiosks on the streets in Canada, and required a robust solution, to protect the Kiosks from being used for watching pornography, and also to be secured against downloads of mal-ware.The Ministry of Defence, in the Netherlands had set up a very stringent requirement for the web-gateway, and a Dutch company that quoted SafeSquid, won the bid. Same happened at Heavy Water Board, and Konkan Railways, Department of Technology Malaysia, and in quite a few such government departments across the globe.Of course we also have quite a few small sized customers too.SafeSquid is today serving a wide range of customers ranging from less than 10, to thousands.

But this gentlemen is only the tip of the iceberg. We still have a long way to go.Before I proceed let me quickly show a forecast for the solution-space, to which SafeSquid belongs.This is an extract from a recently published report by Infonetics Research.It pretty much vindicates our stance, and forecast too.The market will grow exponentially from less than 600 million USD in 2009 to 3.2 Billion in 2013.Another interesting figure that you would notice here is that rather than the Appliance based security solution providers, McAfee presently has a larger revenue share, when it comes to gateway level content security.
