SECTION I: CREATING A FREE ACCOUNT
1. In your browser, navigate to https://www.nfpa.org/ 2. From the home screen, click on Sign In.
3. You must login to an established account to access.a. If you have already created an account, Sign in using your email and password that you
have created.
b. If you have NOT created an account, you must Create a Profile. i. Complete using your PDI email and create a password.

ii. Complete your profile for the required fields (noted with *)iii. Click Save.
iv. Once you have completed your profile, you will receive an email from the NFPA website, asking you to click on a link to validate your email address.
v. Once your email has been validated, Sign in using your email and password that you have created.

SECTION II: VIEWING ALL AVAILABLE CODES & STANDARDS
1. Select Codes & Standards from the top left.
2. Select List of NFPA codes & Standards.
3. Use the Search or Filter tools to locate a specific NFPA Code/Standard # or scroll to locate, which is in numerical order.

SECTION III: VIEWING NEC CODE BOOKS
1. Once you have accessed the list of all NFPA Codes & Standards, locate NFPA 70 – National Electric Code and click on NFPA 70.
2. Select Free Access.3. Select from the dropdown for the Free Access Edition you wish to view.
NOTE: English Editions are available for all code books available. Spanish Editions are available for 2008 code books to current.
4. Select View.

5. Select I AGREE to accept the terms for the edition selected.
6. Select Table of Contents to help navigate.
