Most of Section A can be completed before you go onto the moor

Important to be familiar with all the relevant information

Read existing IAG records and look at drawings and photographs

Check the rough location on a map (OS or Google Earth) and put the grid reference into your GPS

Do checks of other data sources – HER, SAM, NMR

Check Access/get permissions

Uncovering the panel

If you suspect that the panel is hidden by vegetation, please don’t excavate it!

It is OK to remove loose or surrounding vegetation but not turf.

Leave your trowel at home!
