This is my last report as Secretary/Treasurer, except for the report relating to our accounts which will appear in the next issue. You should all have received a notice of the AGM to be held in Vancouver, concurrent with the Trans-Pacific Endodontic Conference.

My leaving the position of Secretary/Treasurer gives me a good deal of satisfaction, knowing that the Society is left in a healthy financial position, and that it is continuing its primary function of providing quality continuing endodontic education for its members. Despite having only had a relatively short term on Executive, it has given me an insight into the operation of the Society, and the enormous combined efforts needed to see it run successfully.

My thanks to the late I l r Chris Oliver arid to I l r Paul Abbott for leaving the books and files in such an organised fashion. It made my baptism less fiery! Many thanks also to my fellow councillors for their help and efforts in corresponding and replying promptly. The co-operation from State Branches has

also been largely excellent, and I do hope this continues for my successor. To AEN Editors, Drs Steven Cohn and Peter Parashos, thank you for holding the presses while late reports arrived. Mrs Susie Egerton at Trade Printers has printed the AEN Education Course Brochures and has operated the mailing list for the ASE for many years, and deserves great credit for our smooth running.

I would also like to thank Dr Ralph Reid for his efforts as President for the past two years, and for sharing the frustrations and pleasures of office. I know I’ll not miss the teleconferences or the mailing lists, but the support from and contact with members and colleagues has indeed made the job a pleasure.

I look forward to continuing service with the ASEIIADT Planning Committee for the meeting of the decade 011 Dental Trauma - Melbourne 19-2 1 March 1999.
