Dear Parents and Guardians

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The BIS Istanbul Creative Arts Department is excited to announce the Secondary Musical Production for

the Academic Year 2013 / 14. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a new adaptation. Well-known from book

and film and countless spin-offs, our favourite moments have been re-cast in the spirit of the original

children’s book, and we’re adding a few surprises.

Congratulations and ‘break a leg’ to our talented cast and musicians, and our imaginative, committed

backstage team. We’re very pleased at the large number of energetic, creative students who’ve come

forward and got involved.

Performances will take place in the Theatre at the Zekeriyaköy Campus on Wednesday 20 and Thursday

21 November, 2013 at 7 pm. Thank you in advance to the large number of staff and parents who are

helping and supporting this fun and ambitious project.

Rehearsals are already under way: the quality of the acting promises to be outstanding. There can be no

more wonderful way of working together and practising transferable skills than putting on a show – and

of course we aim to serve up as delectable a result as possible, in the pursuit of excellence. So there will

be a few late afternoon rehearsals in the weeks just before the performances (to be confirmed), and ALL-

DAY rehearsals on:

Saturday 2nd November from 10am until 5pm and

Saturday 16th November from 10am until 5pm.

Attendance at both these rehearsals is required for all members of the cast. The backstage team will also

need to attend on the 16th.

Tickets can be reserved now, and will go on sale on November 1st – make sure you get yours by booking

early! Adults TL 20, students 10 TL.
