Second Day In Buenos Aires

We woke up at seven o’clock, we had a delicious breakfast and we set to the National

Congress. When we arrived, we were introduced by a guide who showed us the

building, the conference room, the library, the Chumber of Senators, and other rooms.

The National Congress is the institution which exerts the

legislature of Argentina. It’s an assembly constitude by a Chamber of Deputies, 257

members, and a Senate, 72 senators. The Congress Works

between May 1st and November 30th every year,. However, the

President can call for extraordinary sesions or extends

its extension

From there, we went to the “Casa Rosada”, the headquarters of

Executive Power of Argentina. It’s one of the most important buldings in the country, it is in front of 25 de Mayo

square.We delayed beacuse some of our

partnes forgot their documents at the hotel. When we could enter it was a

guide that give us a tour into the building.

We crossed 25 de Mayo Square and we went into the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires, which is the

principal temple of Argentina. In this place, there are the remains of Gral. José de San Martin, kept by two guards.

Later we went to have lunch to a restaurant and, after that, we visited The Colon Theatre, which is one of the opera theatre most important in the world due tu its acoustic, size and trajectory.

We were divided in two groups, each one with a diferent guide. We saw the big room, it was incredible, we’ve never seen such a beautifull place. The stage, the chairs, the boxes, all perfectly distributed.

After that, we went to the cemetery of Recoleta, where we saw famous tombs like Sarmiento, Eva Perón, Remedios Escalada, Savedra, etc. Our guide told us about how this high society built sculptures in honor to the deaths. Even some families compited about who built the best monument.

We stayed there some minutes and we went back to the hotel, we had a bath, we went to dinner. We had some free time so we went by bus to play bowling and pool some hours, later we went to sleep at the hotel.
