ENEA 201215th Congress of the European Neuroendocrine Association
September 12 - 15, 2012Vienna, Austria
S e c o n d A n n o u n c e m e n t
Dear colleagues and friends,
we have the pleasure to invite you to Vienna for the 15th Congress of the European Neuroendocrine As-sociation, 12th-15th September 2012. This meeting is one of the few in the world dedicated to Neuroen-docrinology, and brings together clinical practitioners, basic scientists and opinion leaders working across Europe and overseas. The scientific programme with distinguished speakers from over 20 countries of-fers a unique opportunity to keep in touch with current developments in the field.
Clinical, translational and basic topics will be covered in 6 plenary lectures, 8 Symposia and 12 Meet the Expert sessions. Following the experience of previous ENEA meetings, this is the forum where research-ers in Neuroendocrinology present their work and we have taken care to increase the number of oral presentations chosen from submitted abstracts to 40. A variety of prizes and travel grants will be awarded to the best presentations. This meeting would not be complete without the exhibition and high quality educational sessions of the health care industry, which are highly acknowledged.
Last but not least, we are very happy to welcome you to the Hofburg Congress Center, the former Habsburg‘s imperial residence located in the heart of Vienna. The renowned Vienna Opera House, con-cert halls, theatres and museums, many of them located within walking distance of the congress venue, are just some of the outstanding opportunities to explore our city.
Join us in Vienna and make your contribution to the progress of networking, knowledge and patient care in Neuroendocrinology.
Yours sincerely,
Welcome Message
Prof. Albert Beckers Prof. Jens Otto Lunde Jorgensen Prof. Anton Luger

Vienna, AustriaVienna, a city with about two million inhabitants, is situated in the heart of Europe. Due to its unique geographical and geopolitical location, Vienna has become a centre of international events as well as a popular conference venue. Vienna hosts one of the United Nations headquarters and is home to a num-ber of other international organizations.
History has left its mark indelibly on the city and is manifest with a rich cultural heritage. The city’s appeal stems from merging a truly cosmopolitan spirit with imperial grandeur, a past reminder of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Viennese writers, musicians, artists, and scientists influenced many aspects of our modern world, and the city lived through all major political developments of the 20th century.
Shaped over the centuries when it served as capital of a huge empire, Vienna will always arise feelings of nostalgia.
Today, Vienna offers old historical palaces and modern shopping centres, traditional hotels, Austrian food and haute cuisine, typical Viennese coffee houses and restaurants, outstanding opera performances, classical concerts and open-air festivals, antique shops and elegant boutiques – all joined together in incomparable Viennese harmony.
