TACOMA TO HOST 2017 AAA ALL-STAR GAME: The Tacoma Rainiers and Cheney Stadium have been selected to host the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game presented by CHI Franciscan Health and surrounding festivities, the club announced in coordination with Triple-A Baseball and the Pacific Coast League. The greatest talents from the PCL and International League will converge at Cheney Stadium on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 for the showcase to be televised nationally on MLB Network. This will mark the 30th anniversary of the Triple-A All-Star game. 2017 will mark the first time the Tacoma franchise, members of the Pacific Coast League since 1960, have hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game. The contest has been held annually since 1988, and rotates between International League and Pacific Coast League locations. The selection of Cheney Stadium and the Rainiers to host the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game also marks the first time since 2013 that a Mariners affiliate has hosted an All-Star event. MiLB TOP 25 LICENSED MERCHANDISE SALES: Minor League Baseball announced its list of Top 25 teams in licensed merchandise sales for 2015, with the combined totals of all 160 teams setting a Minor League Baseball record with more than $65.1 million in retail sales. The $65.1 million total marks a 7.9 percent increase over 2014’s total of $60.3 million, which had been the highest total recorde d since Minor League Baseball’s licensing program began in 1992. The numbers are based on total licensed merchandise sales from January 1 December 31, 2015, and include the 160 teams in the domestic-based leagues that charge admission to their games. Jackson defeated Tennessee 3-2 on Thursday night. With the win, the Generals tied the 2012 club for the most wins in Generals history in a half with 42. The 2012 club also won the First Half Title and ended up going 42-28 before the All-Star Break. Jackson (42-24) is 3 wins shy of tying a Jackson record for most wins in a half in franchise history. The 1999 and 2000 West Tenn Diamond Jaxx set the franchise record for most wins in a half when they went 45-25 and 45-23 in the second half respectively. FIRST HALF CHAMPIONS: The Generals clinched the Southern League North Division First Half Title with a 3-2 13-inning win over the

Mississippi Braves on Saturday night, becoming the first team in all of Minor League Baseball to secure a playoff spot. It is the first playoff berth for Jackson since the Generals won the 2012 North Division First Half Title with a 42-28 first half record. Friday May 12th was the first time all year the Generals were not atop the North Division, as they trailed Montgomery by a half-game.

SOUTHERN LEAUGE PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RH reliever Emilo Pagan was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week, June 6-12. In

3 relief appearances during the week, Pagan went 1-0 with 1 save, allowing 1 hit, walked 1 and struck out 10 over 5.1 shutout innings.
