OEM Wiring Harnesses and Electronics
The cables and harnesses on your Motion Concepts power positioning system are designed and tested to meet
all necessary safety standards.
WARNING! The wiring harnesses/cables are not to be modified in any way following the installation
of the Motion Concepts power positioning system.
• If installed on previously used product, the existing OEM harnesses on the wheelchair should be examinedfor damage/ wear and replaced if necessary. Please consult the wheelchair base manufacturer if you are unsureas to the status or condition of the existing wiring harness before interfacing with our Motion Conceptsseating system.
IMPORTANT! Please be certain to also read and follow the safety warnings provided in the Power Base
Owners Manual (provided separately).
IMPORTANT! The instructions provided in this manual are intended solely to illustrate the proper Routing
of the various cables and harnesses on the Motion Concepts Power Positioning System. Please be cetain
to read and follow all safety warnings (including the Safety Lockout and Limit Switch Set-Up Warnings)
provided in the Motion Concepts Ultra-Low Maxx Owners Manual (TRD0384).

IMPORTANT! Due to large variances from one seating system to the next (i.e. seat and back size, power
positioning options), the required fastening hardware can vary considerably.
1.0 Seating Module - Wire Routing Instruction for Invacare Power Bases
The instructions provided include illustrated wire routing diagrams for the following Motion Concepts
Seating Modules on an Invacare Power Base, with a MK6 Controller: Tilt Module (50T), Tilt/Elevate
Module (45T12) and 12” Elevate/Lift-Only Module (L12)
1.1 General Instructions:
1.1.1. The following fasteners are provided to ensure that all wiring cables/ harnesses are properly secured and
protected from damage during normal operation of the completed power positioning system. Please contact Motion
Concepts should require any additional fasteners to complete the installation.
• TRM0766 3/4” Clip • TRM0999 Flexo-Wrap 1-1/4”
• TRM0767 3/8” Clip • TRM0312 2” Velcro Loop
• TRM0768 1/2” Clip • Plastic Cables ties
• TRM0998 Flexo-Wrap 3/4”
1.1.2 During installation, the aforementioned fasteners should be used as needed to ensure that all wiring cables/
harnesses are properly secured and protected from damage (pinching, pulling, crushing) during normal operation
of the installed power positioning system.
1.1.5 Upon completion, verify the routing and security of all cables, and ensure there is no pulling, crushing or
pinching over the complete range of tilt, recline and elevate.
1.1.3 When routing the cables from the Invacare powerbase to the upper seating system, it may be necessary to
modify the wheelchair base shroud to allow a clear path for the cables and prevent any potential interference with
existing base components. Please refer to the Invacare power base Installation Instructions (provided separately)
for specific instructions regarding any base shroud modifications.
NOTE: The location of the shroud modification may vary depending on whichever side the Joystick is mounted
(routed).
1.1.4. The following section provides wire routing diagrams for Invacare Power Bases equipped with a MK6 Controller.
Refer to Table 1.0 below, to determine the applicable wiring configuration for your specific seating system module.
