Thank you for supporting KBTC Public Television during our March pledge drive. We heartily wel-come our new and renewing members. And as our way of saying thanks, this April our program sched-ule features a mix of classic, new series, and exciting specials as part of a programming strategy designed to please you, our loyal viewers, while enticing new viewers to tune in and explore more. One keystone of this strategy is everyone’s favor-ite lighthearted crime-comedy, Death in Paradise. Starting on Friday April 15 at 8pm, season 5 of this UK and French joint production delivers eight new episodes. Death in Paradise is a primary example of our commitment to finding unique television that’s exclusive to KBTC. While the final chapter has closed on DowntonAbbey, Masterpiece remains committed to high quality productions featuring exquisite period costumes, smart dialogue, sharp acting, and great story telling. This month we begin with a brand new season of Grantchester and whet your appetite for four new episodes of Endeavour coming later this year with an encore performance of season 2. Sadly, though, we say goodbye to another long-running favorite with the final season of Mr. Selfridge. But wait, there’s more. Call the Midwife returns with a fifth season. And we are excited to present Jackie Robinson, a new historical documentary by Ken Burns that explores the life and times of Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, a true original, one of the all-time greatest professional baseball players to ever live, and one of the most beloved men in America. Jackie Robinson, a film by Ken Burns, airs on Thurs-day, April 21 at 8p.
