Gather TogetherYou don’t have to be a scientist to ap-preciate specimen art. And you don’t

have to be an avid DIY-er to make your own. Simply pick your favorite shells,

write the names on cardstock, add label plates, and glue the shells in place.

seashell candles. They’re easy to make, easy to

customize and easy on the eyes. Choose deep,

straight-standing shellslike these cup shells for

Makingthe Rounds

Glue an assortment of shells (and some greenery for good

measure) to a wreath form, and every day is a day at the beach.

Square DealCool coasters for cool drinks, coming right up. Arrange shells in a coaster form, and fi ll it partway with resin. When that layer has cured, add sand and fi ll the form the rest of the way with resin.

Tray TimeThis shell-chic tray is too pretty to be just for fun. So to make it functional, glue strips of balsa wood to the inside edges before gluing down the shells. Then place two pieces of plexiglass on top of the strips (two pieces gives extra support).

Sea You SoonYou’ll need lots of shells for this seaside stunner, so the dove and turris mix is a good choice—it comes with 100 shells per bag (you’ll need three bags for a look like ours). Simply trace the silhouette, and then fill it in.
