pull head & legs into the shell. Vary in color and size from 2 to 6 ft. long, weighing 78-1900 lbs. Turtles must go to surface every few minutes in order to breathe.

• DietDiet: Most are carnivores, but the green turtle is a plant eater. Most sea turtles eat crabs, lobster, shrimp, and other shelled invertebrates, shellfish, jellyfish, Man-of-War, and small fish.

• ReproductionReproduction: Lay up to 200 soft-shelled eggs in the sand. Only 1% of these hatchlings will reach

adulthood.
