UNDERSTANDING “CUBIC METRE” SHIPPING RATES

All shipments sent by Sea are on “Standard Shipping Terms CFR”. This means that you will of paid all charges from the UK to the overseas destination Port / Warehouse.

We will quote you two prices. One with and one without UK collection from your front door (ground floor) included. Then the choice is yours if you want to save extra by delivering into our depot or just have us collect from anywhere in the UK.

Please note our standard quote does not include extra cover for valuable items or destination import taxes and local terminal / destination charges if applicable and which vary by country.

THIS IS WHAT ONE (1) “CUBIC METRE” LOOKS LIKE

The Shipping Line will charge you for the space your boxes / suitcases / crates etc take up on the Ship by the cubic metre or part thereof. This is called a “Cubic Metre” payweight.

Often people do not know what a “Cubic Metre” of space looks like (we want you to know and save).

QUESTION: What is a cubic metre?ANSWER: Examples below (excluding a pallet if used)

One ( 1 ) cubic metre = 8 of our free boxes.

One ( 1 ) cubic metre = 3 standard washing machines.

One ( 1 ) cubic metre = 12 Standard Suitcases.

HOW TO CALCULATE VOLUME - CUBIC METRE(S)

Measure the Length, Width and Height of the item in centimetres.

Then: Length x Width x Height = the cubic centimetres

Then: Divide the above result by 1,000,000 = Cubic Metre(s)

For multiple items you will need to do the above calculation for each piece and add the totals up to give you the final cubic metre(s) of your shipment.
