Scalable ProAV Packaged System Guide

Scalable Display Technologies is the industry leader in automatic calibration of multiple projectors. SDT technology was patented at MIT and remains the exclusive licenses of US Patent 6,456,336 – Super Resolution Displays. Scalable has developed this document as a guide to help our integration partners develop packaged systems that meet your customer’s visual requirements and budget. All software products use the same core, camera-calibration technology. The camera simply needs to be positioned to view the entirety of the screen. If one camera cannot be mounted for full coverage, we support up-to one less camera’s than the number of projectors. The camera makes setup quick and accurate, but more importantly, it reduces the maintenance on complex multi-projector systems to virtually zero. SDT is Crestron integrated so a user can add touch-panel control to calibrate the display every morning or every hour. The SDT Digital Signage Package is a simple, low-cost configuration designed for video playback and media signage. This package supports up-to 3 WXGA projectors on a flat or simple curved screen. Users don't need to learn anything new, and can interact with any applications they chose. The Visualization Package is designed for customers who have high horsepower applications that run visually intensive data. This package is ideal for the BIM, Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, and other vertical markets that require high pixel density and extremely high resolution & visual acuity. Capable of driving up-to four 4k projectors at a resolution of 32 mega-pixels, or 12 WQXGA projectors, there is virtually nothing this package can’t handle. The SDT Visualization package is completely application independent, supporting applications like AutoCAD, Revit, VSG, Petrol, GeoProbe and more. This configuration also supports Nvidia stereoscopic 3D and passive stereo with polarization filters. Datapath capture cards enable video capture streams from external camera’s, database PCs, laptops or video conferencing codecs. New to Scacable is an external warping box, named the ScalableIPS. This system is designed strictly for off-board warp and blend. In all previous packages, the warp and blend is performed directly on the source PC. In the case of the IPS, you are calibrating an appliance box which acts as a pass through to the source content. The IPS is most frequently used in conjunction with video wall controllers such as the Christie Spyder or RGB Spectrum. Conent flows through the IPS which applies the geometry correction and blend information before passing to the projectors. This data is still automatically calibrated with our software; however it is stored on the IPS appliance so any source containing overlap can be used This is a great solution for Command and Control, and situations where there is not a Supported Windows PC in the pipeline.
