Refreshed navigationWe’ve focused on making Studio much easier to use in the latest version. Traditional menus are replaced with a brand new ribbon navigation that feels quicker and more intuitive than any previous version. You can completely customize the ribbons in Studio: Add only the tools and functions you want to the Home ribbon tabs or customize the Quick Access Toolbar with your most common commands. With Studio 2015, you can enjoy a modern, refreshed user interface with flat style icons and menus built to help you focus on the job at hand and cut out distractions.

Easy to get you up and runningUsers who are not familiar with SDL Trados Studio can immediately take advantage of the ‘getting started’ resources, which can be found on the new welcome screen. Find easy access to video tutorials and help articles to get you up and running as quickly as possible.

Faster project preparationBatch processing speeds have increased significantly, especially for large projects with multiple files. Depending on your specific project scenario and computer processing power, performance is optimized by three to five times. Fast access to shared translation projectsTeams that share linguistic assets will be happy to know that SDL GroupShare delivers a much faster server experience. Whether you’re sharing terminology, translation memories or entire projects, the user experience has been significantly improved.

Since its release, SDL Trados Studio has offered an unrivalled environment for efficient translation. Translators working in localization departments, translation agencies or independently as freelancers can expect further improvements to their translation productivity with the latest version - Studio 2015.

Effortless translation alignmentAdvanced new alignment technology enables the creation of powerful translation memories from previously translated documents. Use any file format supported by SDL Trados Studio and all alignments can be edited to improve quality. Importantly, the order of segments is preserved, providing the opportunity to leverage high-quality context matches.

Smart suggestions as you typeSpeed up your translation with even better quality intelligent and smarter sub segment suggestions provided by Studio 2015. Save time through fewer keystrokes and complete your jobs faster than ever. The new AutoSuggest feature provides suggestions from more sources including whole phrases coming from machine translation services as well as concordance and fuzzy match results coming directly from your translation memory.


Quickly edit source textSource content can now be edited directly from the translation environment. For example, when working with scanned documents such as legal contracts, characters can get incorrectly scanned leading to errors in the document. The newly introduced Source Editing feature enables translators to make quick edits to correct the problem in any file opened in Studio.

Use any Studio translation memoryEnjoy the highest flexibility using the newly integrated AnyTM functionality. Get maximum leverage from your TM by reversing its language direction, adding different language flavor TMs into your project, or even by combining mixed-source language documents to translate into one target language.

Merge files any timeMerge translatable files ‘virtually’ at any stage of the translation process. Merging project files allows them to be translated as one simple bilingual file so that you can benefit from greater levels of reuse and increased consistency.

Powerful automatic concordance searchWhen no match is found for the current source segment in the TMs, Studio automatically performs a concordance search. And to give you better leverage, the maximum number of matches is increased from 49 to 99.

Accept and reject any changes clearly marked using Track Changes for improved quality, while keeping your TM up to date.

Translation quality assessment No matter what your translation workflow looks like, you can ensure smooth review process resulting in even better quality translations by measuring them the way you want. Organizations can measure and score the quality of their translations and suppliers, while suppliers can feedback on the translation errors their reviewers marked.

Automatic error correctionA spellchecker certainly helps, but it’s not foolproof and mistakes can slip through the cracks. Enjoy a much faster and error-free typing process by eliminating the need to correct misspelled word as Studio 2015 does it automatically for you. It works just like the AutoCorrect feature in Microsoft Word.

Source content can now be edited directly from the translation environment.

SDL’s terminology solution has also undergone a significant revamp. The MultiTerm desktop is now even more tightly integrated into Studio’s editing environment, enabling translators to quickly add new terms and edit their termbases. The most noticeable change introduced by MultiTerm is the long awaited departure from Java, resulting in a major overhaul to the terminology management workflow and performance.

The latest version, MultiTerm 2015, brings a new project feature that allows you to save and restore different terminology management environments with customized settings at the click of a mouse. You’ll also notice a refreshed user interface, support for all languages brought to you by Windows 8.1/10 and a number of enhancements for an even swifter terminology management experience.
