A European Framework for the spatial data: INSPIRE

• INSPIRE = Infrastructure of Spatial Information for the European Community.

• It is a European Directive entered in force in May 2007 in order to establish an Infrastructure of Spatial Information.

• Aim to support Community Environmental policies, activities which have an impact on the environment.

• It is operated by the 27 Member States of the European Union

We can't present a SDI without to speak about the european directive INSPIRE.INSPIRE explains why a SDI.INSPIRE at European level= E.U


• The 27 Member states in charge to applicate the INSPIRE Directive.

Inspire in E.U but not only.Many no-member countries of E.U are implementing a Nation SDI: Serbia, Norway, Croatia.Some events about NSDI are organized every year in Macedonia.


INSPIRE• The implementation of the INSPIRE directive ensures to set

up the Spatial Data. Infrastructures (SDI) of the Member States.

• This SDI will permits to share environmental spatial information among public sector organisations

• It will facilitate public access to spatial information across Europe

• They must be compatible and usable in a Community and transboundary context.

• The full implementation is required by 2019
