You can see an illustrated listing of the content that we have shown over the years here: http://www.stereoscopic.org/3dcinema The 2010 3D Theatre will be held as part of the 2010 Stereoscopic Displays and Applications conference being held at the San Jose Convention Centre, San Jose, California, USA which in turn is part of the Electronic Imaging Symposium - 17-21 January 2010. The 3D theatre will be held on the Monday evening 5:30-7:30pm. More details about the conference are here: http://www.stereoscopic.org/2010 WHAT HARDWARE IS BEING USED?

We are currently organising the projection equipment we will use for the 2010 conference. In past years we have used rear-projected circularly polarised 3D projection systems up to full HD resolution - we will likely have similar systems available again. The 3D content will be played back from a DepthQ stereoscopic media server. At present it is unlikely that we will have a DCI 3D projection or playback system for this year's conference. WHAT 3D FILE FORMATS ARE ACCEPTABLE? The DepthQ player can handle a wide range of 3D formats - both real-time and offline. If you are going to prepare something, you may send us the any of the following: - Above/Below (or side-by-side) Full Frame in MPEG or Motion JPG, Pic video, AVI. - Left and Right, HD MPEG files - Left and Right, TIF image sequence There are other formats we can accept so if you already have your content in another format, we may well be able to accept that (except DCI). Just send us an email to check. Due to the amount of content that we have to show, we are asking for content that is around 3 minutes in length. You can either send us a short excerpt, or send us the whole piece and let us know from what point you would like the content played. DELIVERING THE 3D CONTENT: The 3D content will be professionally handled by Lightspeed Design - the makers of the DepthQ player and DepthQ projectors. They are located in Bellevue Washington (state) USA. Lightspeed have handled the 3D Theatre content for the past six years (which has included some leading Hollywood studio content) and undertake to handle your content with respect and integrity. The 3D content can be transferred to Lightspeed using FTP or by shipping a hard drive or data-DVD/Blu-ray(s). (1) If you wish to use FTP (file transfer protocol over the internet) just email us requesting an incoming ftp account and we will set one up for you. We have received multi-gigabyte files this way successfully in the past. (If using FTP and your individual files are >2GB in size, please use Winzip or WinRAR to segment the file into <2GB segments before FTP.) (2) For shipping, send your drive/disks to: ATTN: Dan Lawrence Lightspeed Design 1611 116th Ave NE Suite 112 Bellevue, WA 98004 USA Phone: +1 425.637.2818 Fax: +1 425.696.0115 Email: [email protected] If you do ship content, please email us ([email protected] and [email protected]) with details of the shipment (carrier and consignment number). All drives/disks can be returned at the conference if you or a representative will be there. (3) We can also download the content from your own ftp or website if you wish to place the content there. TIMELINES:

If possible, we would appreciate if you can send a preview of your 3D content far ahead of the conference. Please send the preview to Andrew Woods at the address below. Due date for full content: 21 December 2009. Content must be sent to Lightspeed prior to the conference so that it can be loaded and tested before the meeting. Unfortunately it is not possible to just bring the 3D content at the actual conference. TECHNICAL DETAILS ABOUT YOUR 3D CONTENT: We would appreciate you providing the following technical details about your 3D content. This will allow us to correctly schedule and introduce your content. Title: By (whom should we credit the film - name/affiliation): Resolution (per eye): aspect ratio (16:9 or 4:3): frame-rate (frames per second): duration (minutes): audio (mono/stereo/5.1/?): narration/language (none/english/korean/?): music (none/licensed/copyrightfree/?): Native file format (codec) (e.g. MPEG/AVI/?): Native 3D format (over-under/side-by-side/separate-files/?): Native file size (MB or GB): content type (live action/computer animated?): What cameras/software did you use?: Content/Story description: Was this produced for a client?: Has it been shown publicly? CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE: Content providers are able to register for the entire Stereoscopic Displays and Applications conference at the discounted author rate. If you only wish to attend the 3D Theatre session, a content provider can do so for free (please arrange before the show). Attendance at the conference is not a requirement for the screening of your content.
