On this tour, you circle the Swiss National Park in four stages over a total of 138 kilometers and an altitude difference of 4,010 meters. The one-of-a-kind landscape is the backdrop to one of Switzerland’s most scenic bike tours. And what’s really special is that you can enjoy the National Park tour’s varied paths and single-track trails completely unencumbered, since your luggage is transported from hotel to hotel for you. The first stage leads through an unparalleled landscape with mountain streams and Europe’s highest and oldest Swiss stone pine forest at 2,200 meters above sea level, from Val S-charl across the Pass da Costainas into Val Müstair. On the

second day, after a long climb up the Döss Radond, you bike down a gravel road into Val Mora, with its legendary single track, to the Swiss-Italian border, and from there to Livigno. The climb on the third day to the tour’s highest point and on to the Chaschauna Pass is steep, and the descent starts off with a challenging single track. But on the subsequent downhill section from the Alp Chaschauna to S-chanf, you’ll completely forget about the previous efforts. On the final day, the tour passes through the Lower Engadin villages, past Zernez, through Susch, Lavin, Guarda, and Ftan, back to Scuol.

This free-ride trail is about three kilometers long and one of two trails created in the Silvretta Arena by former world-class downhill biker and icon Claudio Caluori. On this flowing trail, you can look forward to installed jumps, wooden bridges across mountain streams, and technical challenges. It’s easy to reach the starting point at the Alp Trida Sattel by cable car – and with a Samnaun guest pass, it’s also free. But you can

also get to the flow trail using your own muscle power from Samnaun-Laret via Alp Trida. The short trail isn’t too challenging and is still loads of fun, even after several rides.

THREE TOUR HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE REGION

This tour is one you won’t want to miss due to the scenic highlights alone: the rocky gorge in Val d’Uina, the legendary Bernina Express, and the picturesque Engadin villages. Similar to the National Park tour, you can either bike the Uina Bernina tour in stages or book it as a complete, four-day tour with luggage transport organized for you.

The tour begins on an impressive smuggler’s path carved into the cliffs in Val d’Uina. The subsequent single track leads to the Sesvennahütte (Sesvenna hut), which is open to visitors. From here, you take gravel paths to the village of Laatsch and soon after the day’s final destination in Val Müstair. On the second day, you’ll conquer over 2,200 meters of alti-

tude difference. After reaching the Fuorn Pass, your next challenge is the steep climb to the Fuorcla del Gallo. Your reward awaits there – an unforgettable single track down to the Lago di Livigno. Then you continue onto a flow trail through the Passo di Val Trela to the final destination of this stage, Livigno. The third stage offers a long, varied descent to Poschiavo and the subsequent scenic ride with the Bernina Express mountain railway back to the pass. You’ll then ride the next 20 kilometers through Upper Engadin to this stage’s destination, S-chanf. From S-chanf, the tour follows the route of the National Park tour through the original Lower Engadin villages of Susch, Lavin, Guarda, and Ftan back to Scuol.

INSIDER TIP:

Guarda is considered one of Switzerland’s most prized mountain villages from an architectural standpoint, and is the home of the famous Schellen-Ursli (little mountain boy). It’s worth a stop.
